This place is mediocre at best. It's expensive for what you get. The place is out dated and old, it needs to be cleaned and remodeled.

This gem of a restaurant has tiki vibes and several murals that pay homage to the Honolulu Clipper, a mid-century boat-plane. We had delicious fish and crawfish sandwiches for lunch. However, the real treat was the entirely in-house homemade key lime pie. I've never had better. Never!

Oh man, what a dissapointing experience. Felt like a total tourist trap that’s only after your money.First, their kitchen vent doesn’t work well, so it smells like food in the dining room. The smell will settle on your clothes immediately.Second, we saw our waitress literally three times: when she took our orders, when she brought our drinks way after our food arrived and when we had to pay. No checking in between, asking if we need anything else, nothing. We accidentally broke our wine glass and spilled the wine on the table. No one came to help us. We literally sat with a wet table until we paid. The busser was cleaning the table right next to us and he couldn’t care less that we needed help.At the end, our waitress put her credit machine right on the wet table, not bothering to wipe it down or anything. It felt disgusting. And you know what’s the best part? Their credit card machine has tip presets *starting* at 18%! 18%for what? For non-existent service?Anyway, we felt unwelcomed and overcharged. Pay your money and leave kind of experience. The food was quite mediocre as well. I would look somewhere else to eat.

Came here last Saturday after a hike in Pacifica to try out a For starters, we started with the crabby cheesy garlic bread, which was easily the star of the show. Good, clean crab, fresh bread and a good garlic flavor. The portion size, I could easily eat an order on my own. But a good share for 2 people. We also got a a shrimp cocktail for the table. This was ok. I do wish they didn't smoother the shrimp in cocktail sauce, and I'd rather dip it on the side. I will say though, they are generous with their shrimp portions for being $11. Lastly we got an order of fish n chips. They were ok. It was flaky, could've been a little crispier but it satisfied the craving enough. The fries were a little undercooked though. My family used to dine here back when they were across the street, used to be a staple for us, so it was nice to get back and try it again after all these years.

Loved the ambiance, but the food was average. My friend got sick after eating here. Prices are high.

My bf and I decided to stop by here after the beach and it was really convenient because it was near by. As soon as we got there we waited a little to get sat but the service overall from everyone was great. We ordered a couple of things on the menu. The fried calamari was great definitely 10/10 love the jalapeños that were added. We have came here before and the cheesy garlic bread is always amazing! The only thing is that it is a little pricey for the sizing but still great. We also ordered some crispy shrimp tacos and they were pretty good. Wasn't busy for a Friday and ambiance was good in there.

Cool kind of place. Fish and chips apparently number 9 in US but doesn't say which year. Good but not great. Service was friendly.

This a a review for Doordash. I've been to flying fish & grill's restaurant about 2 times now. This time I decided to order from door dash because I was craving pasta but feeling lazy. I ordered the seafood pasta and cheesy garlic bread. Cheesy Garlic Bread (4/5) It was yummy, cheesy and garlicky. It was just really small for how much it costed. Seafood pasta (2.5/5) It was just bland. Tasted like cream and that was about it. Luckily I had a lime, Parmesan, seasoning at home so I was able to jazz it up.

A solid place for a decent variery of seafood dishes.Cioppino (with crab): Better than most places, in that had a flavorful soup rather than just tomato-demonated.Jambalaya: Nice. A bit more liquids than some versions, but good flavors and seafood.Portions sizes for both were good - enough for a hungry person, or good to share for a lighrer fare.Service was a bit slow as they were just opening up, but friendly and professional.Overall a pleasant discovery - we will be back!

Very tasty, especially Lazy man cioppino! We share it, but it was enough! House wine is good too!

Wanted to visit Flying Fish & Grill on my boyfriend's and my day trip to Half Moon Bay. I loved that on a weekday around 12 PM, we were practically the only ones in the restaurant. :) I love that the menu offered tons of yummy options. I also loved how creative their kids' menu was! We shared 3 fish tacos and a cioppino, both of which came out absolutely fantastic. The fish tacos were the perfect size, and the rice and beans that came with the dish made the meal more filling. The cioppino tasted very fresh! Not too oily, and the broth was perfect for bread dipping. All in all, a great restaurant to visit when you're in HMB.

Such a great place! The clam chowder was delicious. The jambalaya was the best I've ever had and our waiter Filipe was great!

What’s a great atmosphere. Such friendly service and great fish and chips even if they are not Idaho potato’s ? lol I would for sure eat there again.
