This is just the cutest unique inn. The rooms are sweet and eclectic. They have real coffee with real mugs n glassware. A wine key and bucket. Water in multiple places. Totally pet friendly. Our room was attached to a shared courtyard which provided extra space to sit and relax. Hands down would stay again. If you can't do stairs this isn't the place for you also no AC but the cool nights with the fan and open window were wonderful. Everything is so well though out and there is a wonderful italian restaurant right next door.

The room was amazing! Unfortunately, we were woken up by noise coming from the hotel, restaurant, and street at 1:30 and 4:00 am both nights that we stayed there. It was impossible to get good rest. Next time I won’t choose this 350$/night hotel.
When I told the staff about being woken up, they verbally shrugged, asking me what i”d like them to do. A disappointing response.

Great location to enjoy all that Half Moon Bay has to offer. The rooms are small but comfortable. Loved the shower. The decor is tired and could do with a refresh.
Sadly the walls are really thin, we could hear the people in the next room talking and snoring loudly! Plus at night someone switched on some kind of fan which ran all night. It was hard to sleep due to the amount of noise!
I doubt we would stay here again.

What a darling little inn! It truly was like staying in someone’s personal home. So many thoughtful touches and such character in each room! We will definitely be back. Great location in the middle of this fun little town that had everything we needed for a mini escape. We enjoyed the Wind and Jazz Festival to boot!

The hotel location is lovely - with cute stores and restaurants along the road. The room was clean and comfortable. To get to the seaside you're probably better off driving but it is possible to walk also.
What could have been better:
- if you try to drop your luggage earlier (we wanted to do a hike on check in day and tried to drop our backpacks at the lobby) - the hotel entrance was firmly shut and there was no staff to be found. We also couldn't reach them by phone.
- upon checkout the same thing happened at 10:20am - reception was closed and there was nowhere to leave the bags for a few hours (had to leave them in the room and come back later)
At night it was a bit noisy - both from hearing other guests through the wall and just the sounds of traffic and people of the downtown.
The other aspect I was not aware of before visiting: you have to carry your luggage up some steep stairs. There wasn't an elevator or staff to help with bags. So if you can't carry the weight of your bags up the steep steps it might be a problem.
Other than that - it's a great place to stay!

Sigh…I hate leaving a review like this, but I feel it’s important to be honest. Ok for starters…the place overall and the rooms are adorable with personality. However, the rooms are very small and would be a better fit for someone traveling alone.
We came into a room that was very hot, so we immediately cracked open windows when we realized there was no AC. They did provide a little box fan that we appreciated.
No counter space, except for a little table/desk. No where to put toiletries when you’re getting ready in the bathroom, but I did like that they provided full bottles of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, etc). Our bathroom window was connected to someone’s patio and I’m glad I noticed before using the restroom. For the most part we had to keep the bathroom window shut and there’s no fan in the bathroom. The neighboring room heard me talking and shut their patio door as well. Haha. In the morning I opened it and saw someone sitting right there. Eek. It kind of made us uncomfortable.
Coffee bar was adorable and ice machine was easy to get to. The room was clean, no strange smells, nothing odd…just…small.
Rating for service was hard because there was no one at the front desk when we arrived at night (late check in) and we didn’t see anyone until turning our keys in (around 11:30 AM). Not sure if that’s normal for someone to show up so late? My fiancé had gone downstairs earlier in the morning just to see if there was breakfast (there wasn’t) and no one was there. We did see housekeeping and they were very sweet when we told them I was running behind for check out.
It is downtown and right above a wonderful restaurant and walking distance to a lot of things to do. We drove right around the corner to rent bikes for a nice Sunday afternoon ride. Points for being so close to things to do. Every time we attend the Pumpkin Festival and see this place, we always say “we should stay there sometime!” We are from the Bay Area, so we don’t feel the need to run to the beach as much as someone might be from out of state. The location was perfect for us.

Historic hotel, small room and bath with very few available electrical outlets. Room view into a nearby concrete wall and overlooked restaurant courtyard. HVAC unit just outside window….room did not have air conditioning.
Upon arrival, lobby door was locked. Had to call to get room key. Never saw anyone associated with the hotel to obtain extra coffee or ask questions of places to eat.
No breakfast options and no food provided.
No elevator…stayed in Piccola Stanza #6…up a flight of stairs and end of long hall. Window from bathroom opened up to a patio and the people were able to see in.
Paid $232 for this standard room.

Room was very small. Bed was comfortable. When I got there the room was hot. I don't think there was any air conditioning. There's no elevator. Stairs only. I don't think I would stay there again. The best part is the location. Right on Main street.

The Inn at HMB was in a perfect location and was a unique experience in a positive way. We were welcomed and toured through the hotel by Rosa who was as sweet as she was beautiful. They accommodated all our needs and more. The rooms have absolutely everything you need and surpassed our expectations.

Lovely stay at HMB Inn. Rooms are small, and it helps to know that going in, which we did so no complaints there. Clean, organized, and wonderful service from all staff, especially the owner who was friendly and helpful throughout our booking and our time there. We were in town for a wedding at the San Benito house and highly recommend. booked the Terrazo room and the terrace was delightful, made the room feel bigger and allowed us to open the door and cool the Room down naturally.
