Disappointing Customer Service Experience at the Barbie MovieI recently visited Cinamark to watch the latest Barbie movie with my best friend and our two daughters, aged 8 and 9 on Saturday 22, of July at 10:15am. While our overall movie experience was enjoyable, I must express my disappointment with the customer service we received during our visit.Upon arriving at the ticket counter, my friend and her daughter were not yet present, but my daughter accompanied me. As we were dressed up for the Barbie movie, it was evident that my daughter was a child. However, the ticket attendant, who appeared to be a teenager, assumed without asking that we required four adult tickets. When I corrected her, stating that we needed two adult and two children's tickets, I was met with a dismissive and incredulous look. It seemed as if she was disinterested in her job and lacked a basic level of attentiveness.Upon noticing a sign reminding customers about the rewards program, I inquired about the process of redeeming rewards and whether I needed to provide my membership number. To my surprise, the attendant seemed oblivious to the fact that I had not been asked for my membership information during the ticket purchase. Furthermore, when I sought clarification on this matter, none of the staff members displayed any genuine concern or interest. This lack of engagement reflects poorly on the level of customer service provided at Cinemark Theater.Drawing from my previous experience as an employee at Cinemark, I recall being trained to actively engage with customers, particularly in terms of upselling concessions such as popcorn, drinks, and candy. However, during my recent visit, I observed a distinct absence of such efforts. This lack of enthusiasm and failure to seize upselling opportunities is both surprising and disappointing, given the standard practices followed in the industry.In conclusion, the limited enthusiasm displayed by Cinemark Theater's staff members in addressing customer inquiries and their failure to capitalize on upselling as well as the lack of reminding customers of their rewards program opportunities is disconcerting. It is my hope that Cinemark management takes note of these shortcomings and reinforces a customer-centric approach among their staff. By addressing these concerns, Cinemark Theater can improve the overall customer experience and bring it in line with the expectations set by other establishments within the industry. They do have good popcorn tho.
