BEWARE OF RN NURSE PRIVA IN OUTPATIENT SURGERY PREPARATION AREA!!!! My experience with an RN nurse by the last name Priva. I was there for outpatient surgery 3 days ago, and Priva was my nurse. Everything was going well until this unprofessional nurse had to give me meds before surgery. I was in and out of sleep due to lack of sleep the night before surgery. She wakes me and tells me that she has to give me 3 pills, I'm not expecting her to put all 3 pills in the cup at once, so she hands me the cup, and I proceeded to take the medication thinking that she's going to give them to me the medication one at a time not paying attention to what's in the cup and proceeded to take the medication and the pills got lodged in my throat. I began to chock and cough up the pills. The nurse Priva just stood there and watched me chock. It took another nurse who was walking by to come and help me and give me more water. The idiot nurse Priva had the audacity to say that it was my fault that I choked off the pills, telling me that I should have been able to swallow them, and I asked her since when do people take 3 pills all at once with a half cup of water. I've never had a nurse at Kaiser Permanente give me 3 pills all at once. The nurse who helped me intervened and said that it was not my fault and that she shouldn't have given me those pills all at once. I thank God for the other RN nurses who were there who helped me. I wish I could remember all of their names, but one thing for sure, I won't forget that RN nurse Priva because I am writing a full complaint against her.

This review is for the Vision Essentials Department. While every single optometrist at this location is professional and amazing bedside manner, the vision essentials department leaves much to be desired. When you call they never answer, if they do they will look up your name or phone number from the voice mail you leave and will tell you that you do not have any orders to follow up on when in fact you may be calling for your child who does have a pending order and it's been over a month. If by any chance a representative does answer they quickly say "please hold" before you can say anything and put you on hold for 15 minutes before the call is transferred to a voice mail because no one ever came to the phone. It seems that this department doesn't match the amazing customer service that the other departments have. If you must go here just know that you will need patience when it comes to their customer service and waiting on your order. I hope that they can improve on this going forward.

My eye started to swell on October 17th, 2022. I have experienced these symptoms in the past and was told by a doctor it was eye shingles. I decided to go to Urgent Care the next day when it was a little more swollen and little tiny clear bumps were developing on my left eyelid. Since I have experienced this about 4-5 times before, I knew it was going to keep getting worse if I didn’t get antibiotics. The urgent care doctor Deborah C. Umeh stated it could be a stye and didn’t think it was eye shingles. I was relieved to hear that. She was going to prescribe me antibiotics for it. She stated she wanted me to see the ophthalmologist first. Once they called her back she came into my room asking if I can make it to Parkview in 15, it is literally a block over so of course I could make it in 15. She didn’t say to go, she just turned around and went to her office. I waited because I wasn’t sure. She came out of her office and yelled at me to go!John Clayton Terrell MD, came into the room, didn’t even really look at me and asked what kind of eye doctor did I go to last time. I said I wasn’t sure. He seemed frustrated and asked if it was an optometrist or an ophthalmologist. I said an optometrist. He then angrily stated I went to the wrong kind of eye doctor. I explained that is where I was sent by my doctor. He then sternly said “my point is there are different kinds!” He then examined my eyes, did not exam my eyelid once which is the reason I went. He stated it wasn’t eye-shingles and thought it was mild iritis. He prescribed me eye drops and told me Good luck. After researching iritis more, I did not feel like that was correct at all.The next day, my eyelid was more swollen and the little clear bumps I saw on my eye were now bigger. I called the ophthalmologist at 8:28 and a message was sent to them. The girl on the phone stated they should call me very soon. At 10am I decided to call back as I really wanted to be seen. They said the message was sent and it could take 3-4 hours. Well 5 hours later, I received a call from the doctor. He rudely said that he could not treat something if it was not there and not that the blisters are there, I would need to go in and get the shingle medicine. Hearing this, I was very upset because I had gone there to get care before it got worse and also paid $90 the day before and would have to pay another $55 to be seen again. He stated again that he can not treat something that is there. I tried to tell him that the blisters were there but he wasn’t listening and yelled “I am the doctor, not you “. He then told me good luck.I had to go to a different doctor to get treatment for my eyelid.

The employees here are so rude to people who are hard of hearing. Came in for prescriptions related to my ear and I didn't notice the lady behind the counter at the pharmacy was calling me. I got to the counter and she visibly was irritated with me from the start. She started asking questions and it was really hard to understand her behind her mask. Asked her to repeat herself and she rolled her eyes. Your employees should be a bit more understanding, considering you all work at a hospital and have a wide variety of patients. Not everyone can hear you. It was very upsetting how rude she was to me. I walked back to the car holding back tears. It's not my fault I can't hear well.

I've had Kaiser insurance all my life, and it definitely feels like it's all about quantity rather than quality now...I had a telehealth visit today, I got a call yesterday evening stating that the doctor will not be available tomorrow so they need to reschedule, I said ok. The. She proceeded by saying "I'm sorry ma'am, but we have nothing else available." I said, but it's the facility who is canceling the appointment, not the patient so that's already an inconvenience, so please find me a telehealth visit at ANY location. She said she'd call me back but I never got a call, so now I am appointmentless. I guess I'll take myself to CVS and treat me own flu like symptoms. SMH.

I went in to KP's Optometry Dept and was helped by Nancy Palomares, who couldn't have been more cordial, polite and helpful. She showed a lot of patience and willingness to assist me in finding the right fit for glasses. She made this a pleasant experience for me.

Things are soooo bad with this virus right now that wait times in the ER are outrages. You might as well just stay home and hope to get better. I went into ER for the simple fact that I had a asthma attack couldn't breath I was wheezing felt light head dizzy blurry vision all the covid symptoms and still had to wait 9 1/2 hrs to be seen. The waiting areas are swamped with sick people. They have heaters & blankets with chairs outside as if your camping.

This Kaiser made me angry. I get calls like a bill collector calling all morning not leaving a message, they call my dad mistakening him for me, I have no idea how they got his number. I had to come here for a test, when I returned the phone call the girl I spoke to was drilling me like an investigator asking me all these questions about me following my strict diet, then threatened to have to cancel my appointment because I ate this or that, then asked if I could come in early not specifying a time to come in, the girl I spoke to then said from 12-1p.m. nurse conducting test wasnt available during lunch. I was hot! I followed my strict diet, the girls name I believe was Irene? She gave me a bunch of false information. When I called back I spoke to a different girl she verified my appointment at 1p.m. and asked if I got a covid test, I explained I already mentioned that to the other girl I spoke to earlier. She verfified my appointment and stated if my test was false, I'd just have to come back again. When I arrived to the facility it was very nice from outside, nobody asked or cared if I got a Covid test? When I checked in the black lady receptionist on 1st floor was very polite, when I arrived to the 3rd floor the nurse helping me took me at 12:30p.m. However, the bathroom in the waiting area on 3rd floor was very gross. It had pee on the floor and some type of sticky on the floor, it was also wet in areas. The nurse who helped me Courtney Yao was very professional and very thorough answering my only question. I appreciate your kind attitude and knowledge explaining steps for the test. Courtney also followed up with me to ensure everything was going good. Great job to Courtney and receptionist on the first floor to check in, your customer service skills went above and beyond expectations.

My overall experience with Kaiser so far has been nothing but pleasant. I still couldnt believe that every single one i have encountered from the phone, front, nurses, doctors, literally everybody has been extremely nice. I have been skeptic about switching insurance but i am so glad i did. Ive encountered at least 30 people within the organization and literally all of them are so pleasant to interact with. I also love my PCP Dr Chen! She truly cares about her patients and im so lucky to have been assigned to her. Ive never seen a primary care doctor that tries to check every single possibility to rule out any health underlying issues. Call after call after call to make sure your lab tests appointments are scheduled. Its so easy to make appointments with their up to date app. Mail order RX is also very convenient. Copays are straightforward and upfront. No surprise costs WHICH IS A BIG DEAL for me! Same day appointments are always available. And most importantly, their system is so organized and efficient!! I am so impressed, its hard to believe.
