I have visited and tasted most Spanish food restaurants from San Diego, Valentina in Oceanside, Sevilla in Riverside (moved), Long Beach, La Catalana a in Santa Clara to Telesferic Barcelona.,.. all great ... Hands down no one beats the Paella made at La Española meats... I mean no one. I have validated this year after year. You should try it... specially the House Paella... 5 Stars.

Their shipment and tracking is a complete mess, and under no circumstance would I recommend spending money with them.First, their stated breakdown of "perishable/non-perishable" at checkout was completely inaccurate for my order and stated that only two chorizos would be sent by second day air with the rest, including ham pieces, sent as standard. This wound up not being true and over 200 dollars of meats were sent 2 day with no shipment notification (not even in the junk folder which they have issues with due to spamming multiple emails), no tracking number, and and no signature so it rotted in my mailroom until I got the delivery notification for the "non-perishable" goods. This is the worst experience I've ever had buying perishable goods and I will be going with Tienda from now on as overpriced as they are.

Call a day before or Sat AM to reserve Paella before driving. They have Jamon Ibirico in the freezer & counter.Bocadillo de la Casa sandwich is phenomenal. It was my first time to go today. I did call the day before but was not informed to reserve a Paella order so it was gone by the time I got there after lunch.

I'm from Spain,as are the wonderful owners, this is the ONLY authentic market in S. California that has TRULY Spanish (not like most other Hispanic markets lump together products from other Hispanic countries which claiming to be "Spanish")La Española Meats produces a diverse assortment of AUTHENTIC in-house made NON-spicy Spanish varieties of chorizos/cured sausages which tasteEXACTLYlike the various Spanish regional varietiesThey also are a small market that carries many imported ready to eat traditional items cheeses, paella specific rice varieties, canned seafood, bottles tapas, along with ingredients to enjoy and make many regional dishes.A great selection of regional Spanish wines, etc. SADLY, their paella is unexpectedly ...ATROCIOUS, despite the owners being from Valencia, because it is mushy and bland lacking in authentic flavor . Paella is my favorite dish which I've enjoyed deliciously prepared countless times in restaurants and ESPECIALLY as the main meal prepared at home or by friends each time I'm back in Spai The only possible explanation would be that since the staff is predominantly not from Spain, they do their best to reproduce the recipe...which having the Spanish owners on site seems like a lack of quality control .The SPANISH churros (without sugar or cinnamon) are authentic as is the HEAVENLY thick TRUE hot chocolate which is a traditional breakfast item. I actually prefer the delicious Mexican variety with sugar and loads of cinnamon though I'd have to bring my own ready spice mix .FYI heavenly Spanishhot chocolate(cocoa) is a T-H-I-C-K luxuriously velvety elixir same as the FrenchLe Chocolat Chaud, ItalianCioccolata Calda, and Portuguese Cacau Quente recipes that is made with solid chocolate, whole milk/cream(NEVER water)and a touch of sugar, cornstarch, and often a dash of vanilla. We can the "Swiss Miss" varieties "DIRTY dishwater" I'm droolingnow and so will YOU once you stop by and enjoy a "trip to Spain" here at La Español

This is what I love about being in Los Angeles!!!You can find the best places hidden away in the most unique places!!The last Saturday of the month, there is FLAMENCO show from 12-2pm. Come early to a table. Get some paella, tapas, churros etc. While you wait!!! There's also a market. Do some shopping!!! Lots of good things!!!They have wine, imported olive oil, olives, caviar, candy, sweets & meats all imported from Spain!!! You have to get the "JAMON". It's worth it!!!! And don't forget the baguette!!!!!They have a cute patio area to sit & enjoy the show!

Excellent supplier of high quality Spanish food. If you are looking for cold cuts, cheese, olive oil, or some Rioja wine, this is the place to get all of it from in SoCal! Their bocadillos are also great, and at a reasonable price!

I don't remember how I learned of this specialty shop for Spanish gourmet products but I came to check it out and it's a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, they do have excellent imported products like various conserva, imported Spanish cheese and sausages. I got an excellent chistorra among other things! But when I ordered a tortilla it turns out it's some frozen stuff that was so pathetic, I should really have taken a photo to show as proof. It's easy enough to make a tortilla and they're not even making that out of their own kitchen?? I'm curious how the paella would be..So.. Come here for the pantry goods. But I hesitate to try their food based on that initial experience.

If you’ve had Spanish food you won’t be satisfied with this. The biggest dissapointment was the tortilla - it was frozen! They took it out of a box and just heated it in the microwave. Incredibly dry and essentially unedible. In Spain, you will NEVER be served boxed/frozen tortilla at a restaurant. The sandwiches were okay. They were not generous with the meats and they were pricey ~ $9. Churros and especially the chocolate were probably the best bite we had.

Come here to buy Spanish style hams that keep getting better, Spanish cheeses/wines, and have a bite/drink. Lucky, if you can come Saturday forPaella de Mariscos. It used to be $5, but that was 20 years ago! During Covid, I ordered online and I was very happy! If it's not to your standards there is Paella in Beverly Hills or LAX to Madrid/Barcelona. Buen Provecho y Muchas Gracias!
