I want to give the Mammogram Technician INNIA, at the Normandie North MOB 5 stars. She was exceptional! She is an expert technician, told me what she was doing, was quick and thorough. She is happy, friendly and made an uncomfortable process go quickly. The area was clean and the equipment is digital and top of the line. This appointment was easy, efficient and I felt good as I left the building. I plan to check my results on KP.org soon. Thank you INNIA and KP

24 hour pharmacy you just cannot beat that. Picked up some medication and got some laboratory work completed. Love the Saturday and Sunday office hours for laboratory as well. Got me a healthy snack at Kaiser Thrive Cafe. I had their teriyaki chicken rice with veggies and a spicy house made dressing. In addition healthy smoothies like banana, banana with spinach, breakfast burritos like scrambled eggs ,cheese, and spinach. Chicken sandwiches, rolls, coffee, coffee smoothies, fresh fruit, water, specialty drinks.

Great staff at this location. They know how to treat and care for their customers. Depending on your situation they can give you a plan that is just for your situation such as a family plan or an individual plan with different and unique features. The benefits at Kaiser are the ABSOLUTE BEST! I have never had one single bit of regret with Kaiser. Better than other companies.

I got kicked out of ER for having an Emergency. Horrible experience . After my work up was done, I was told to wait an hour for test results. After patiently waiting for over 3 hours, I went to the window and was told that I was behind a lot of people and it would be another 6-8 hours wait at least. I'm in a crowded ER, coughing, sneezing, crying, vomit, odors all around, no seats left, (some covered in Cheetos , water or Pee, etc.) so I'm sitting on my walker I got last week after my quadruple heart bypass a month ago, complications from which, coincidentally, is the reason I was there!. I live 5 mins away so I had my wife take me to the safety of my home to wait the next 6-8hours since my app alerted me when the test results came in and my walker was killing my back because the seat is for temporary use. After I saw the results show up on my app, I went back, SAME DAY after THEY made ME wait for test results and was told by clerk Susan, and Charge Nurse, Charlotte that I would have to start over, take the EKG, X-Rays, blood tests that I just took earlier that same morning, "pay another ER penalty fee", and wait another 6-8 hours because the earlier crew deleted all my records! ( which didn't make sense because I had the test results on my app). They then began laugh/mocking me and loudly discussing my medical issues in front of their coworkers and the entire ER full of strangers. They seemed confused about HIPPA patient privacy Laws as though they had never heard of such a thing. When I said that I needed to record this insanity on my phone , Charlotte said that I would be breaking the law (Suddenly she knew about Law and Privacy) and security would escort me out if I started recording. I have been a Kaiser patient for almost 40 years but I guess the rumors about them not wanting you when you get old and cost them money are true. I left and after a few hours rest, felt better, but I have no idea what was causing the intense back and chest pains that I went in for to this day. I have never been so dehumanized, insulted and degraded in public in my life. Whatever you do, Don't get old at Kaiser!!! Good thing it happened during open enrollment week so I can maybe go to a real medical facility that cares about seniors if I survive until January. I'm afraid to go back to this place because they might kill me to save money if the rest of them are as heartless and callous as Susan and Charlotte. It is strange because the midnight crew that took me in was nice. Whatever, See you in January SCAN and Torrance Memorial if I survive!!! Let's pray . The most painful aspect is this: They know how to be nice. They were extremely nice to the younger, tall handsome Italian man in line ahead of me. However, when a 66 year old, bent over in pain, can barely catch my breath to speak Black man (that was me) stood at the window, the look of sheer disgust came over her face in a micro expression. She was determined to be rude to me based on my appearance. It was the same look that the store owners in Jim Crow Louisiana gave my Grandpa and the other old Black men in my hometown when I was a child. I recognize it anywhere because it pops up every day, I just didn't expect it at Kaiser for some reason. Her actions proved that I was right.

I find myself here a lot for blood tests and routine checkups so this review is going to be based on my overall experience. I find myself having an overall, decent experience here. The staff is overall pretty nice here. I would say that on the pharmacy side, they're all pretty nice and the pharmacist does a good explanation on how to properly take your medicine and what it does. Their phlebotomists over there are also nice and all pretty experienced. Taking out one star only because, getting an in person appointment can take about 1-2 months which is crazy! My PCP is hardly ever available so I had to schedule with another physician. I'm an annoyingly inquisitive patient but also, patient education is definitely important too. This covering physician was happy to answer any questions that I had regarding my test results but also my PCP is hardly available and when I did see her one time, I felt kinda rushed. As a healthcare worker I do understand but also, as a patient, it felt like I didn't really matter like, 'thank you, next' kind of vibe. It's a conflicting feeling but yeah not gonna go into it haha I guess overall, it really depends who you get. You're going to come across competent workers and not so competent ones. I had it in my mind for a long time that I was only supposed to go to my PCP but no one educated me that I can go to others so if your PCP isn't available, go to someone else, who knows, you might like that other physician better!

Horrible lag in response when requesting assistance via email. It makes one feel like that they don't care. My Dr also had poor bedside manner. For one thing, she was not empathetic to my concerns and her solution was to listen to an app. I am very frustrated with the way they treat me here.

Monday January 9 2023; between 1:50 pm and 2:15 pm for surveillance camera reference and lawsuit purposes. To the supervisor of Securtity Guard at Normandie North with the short braids, eyeglasses, and mean demeanor. It was not your position to try to lecture me about " Ladies first" when you handed the box of mask to me and all I was trying to do is get some face mask for me and my family to enter the facility. On top of that why did you feel the need to get within 2 feet to my face and try a stare down as a form of intimidation.? This is suppose to be professional hospital not a marijuana dispensary. You should act accordingly . You and Kaiser Permanente need to get retrained or disciplined . You are a public server and should never let your self righteousness get in the way or doing you job. I hope you get fired so you can go act hard at a your dream job at the dispensary .

Came on New Years Eve because I got the flu and was slightly wheezing which concerned me because I never do. They told me that me that the doctor would call me which she did and while I was listing my symptoms and told her about the wheezing she asked absolutely nothing about my wheezing like she was in a rush to get to the next person. She cared more to educate me on what exactly a flu virus is and how we can't cure it which is fine but that's not what I came for. She refused to see me in person and when I brought up a question about my wheezing she just hung up on me to get to the next person I suppose. This is our wonderful healthcare system in America. Now I'm COVID positive and wheezing more with no medication to treat ...thanks Kaiser

** This if for ER Dept **Dr. Apelo was the most careless Dr I have encountered. She told us she was going to run some test & give my father IV to help, came back 20 mins later to get something from the room and said the exact same thing she said which means she forgot, 30 minutes after that still no show, I go ask if she even submitted the blood for testing and the lady at the desk said yes about 10pm which means she did in fact forget and still bo IV or anything. Then later said my father had high lactate due to dehydration when she never even give him another IV like she said she was going to do 2 and half hours prior. This was terrible and I DONT RECOMMEND anyone deal with Dr. Apelo. The RNs were pleasant and that's the only reason why I'm giving 2 stars. As for Dr Apelo, she needs more training or to go work elsewhere that doesn't have many patients so she can focus and care for the ones that are under her care. Terrible experience.

I don't understand why it's so difficult to get an appt here no. You could have a serious health issue, and they'll still give you an appointment 3 weeks out.

Was told wait time for doctor to call was 1-1.5 hours and then 1.5 hours later still no call form a doctor. So I guess it freak my life and others based on made organizational practices and maybe being understaffed and overwhelmed. Like so glad my symptoms are only in the mild to moderate stage. Goodness gracious, horrible.
