My daughter has been coming here for her special events (homecoming, birthday, prom) and she's very pleased with their work. She brings in her ideas with photos she's found and they do a great job recreating the artwork. Her only complaint was when it came time to remove her acrylics, she felt they rushed it and simply pulled them off. She said she could have done that herself. Aside from that, they do a good job at a good price.

The starting nail price was $40 over the phone and they did not mention any add on prices so at the end I was charged $70 without my knowledge . Upset with my services from John and management. First and last time here.

Update- after seeing the response I am just shook. Because if they had done what I'd ask I wouldn't have walked out with my nails cut down (that I cut myself because they refused to take such ugly nails off) and I left without pay because I literally left with nothing but blood. U can literally see blood in my cuticles. Lol again, horrible place so not go if you want to keep all your fingers. And this uptight attitude management is the reason they have poor reviews. Do better. Stop acting entitled to my money if you do sh*t jobs. Blood!!!! And CUTS !!! In my cuticles AND THE OWNER WANTED ME TO STAY AND PAY to get it fixed. What is wrong with ppl. Literally acrylic on my skin! Entitlement is dangerous

DO NOT GO HERE!!! They use metal drill bits on natural nails damaging your nails then instead of apologizing they make excuses!

This was the worst nail experience I've ever had in my entire life! I'm walking out of here with my toes bleeding after my cuticles were ripped off. My once long and healthy nails were filed and stripped down and are now brittle. I stopped the service 30% of way in due to pain and poor service but was still forced to pay full price!

The best by far in the South Bay. Discovered this nail salon tonight randomly because I had a last minute event to go to. Glad I did because the staff here are so kind! Nail tech was talented and the salon itself is clean. Definitely making my next appointment here

After over 20 years of quality lashes, brows, waxing, pedicure and my personal favorite person Van, the then owner; wonderful, patient, sweet and a consummate professional, has ended. Van sold Magic Nails my friends. Saturdays were standing room only. Loved my hours of pampering, laughing and joking with fellow customers I've known since Van's daughter was a totler and now graduating from School of Dentistry. Magic Nails was truly magical through wonderful clientele, beautiful shop, excellent service and gorgeous work. Upon entering the shop was quite surprised there were two or three customers. Atmosphere was dark; with very poor attitudes. A long time customer walked in with lashes that looked like a child did them; she was extremely upset almost in tears, as she was told the day before Van was unavailable. The person who did the lashes the day before pushed her way through and demanded to repair the lashes--was told many times by the distraught customer only Van was allowed to fix it and "stop harassing me." Van politely asked very rude lash lady to leave several times. Of course Van repaired the disaster and the young lady was happy and beautiful again. I said "Van's the best--gorgeous work." Sat next to an acquaintance I've known from Pastor XX 27 years ago, as well as Bishops XX1 and XX2 who advised of many people reeling from this unfortunate news. NOTE: Van works Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Phone number is changed and when dialing directly it shuts off. Must go through website and access "call." Yes, well over 85% of Magic Nails customers were members of world renowned churches in the surrounding areas. Was told that Van no longer owned the shop. Knew something was off due to the dark atmosphere; a bit shaken, disappointed and horrified, I almost fell from the candles, statues and fruit display on the floor twice. Asked new owner if I could offer a suggestion that may be a bit sensitive but would help her. (At 74 and over 40 years in business I've learned a few things.) SHE SAID YES. Advised the statue and fruit arrangement (below my knees and I'm 5'10) could be moved elsewhere instead of a front door walkway; further, it's a Code violation. She seemed to be ok with our 3 minute conversation. Approximately 30 minutes later she tried to give me her phone as her husband wanted to speak with me, I refused and said I have nothing to say to your husband. She went away, only to return yelling and screaming to the top of her lungs in broken English and told me I was "racist against her religion." And "get out"! I refused and stated as soon as Van finished I'd leave. Fifteen minutes later the husband came in yelling, ranting and screaming that I was racist. [Clearly, command of the English language is amiss.] He seemed demonically possessed. Needless to say, was horrified, livid and blatantly disrespected. His rage was frightening and I called Hawthorne Police Department and filed a report. Strangely, when security advised Mr. Unprofessional Hawthorne Police was enroute, he shot out of the shop like the Roadrunner. Hmmm. Knowing it was a civil matter found it best to have a record of this disturbing display from Mr. and Mrs. Unprofessional. Called 4-5 times this morning to confirm Van would be available but was told "Van at lunch." Asked for Lee and other Cosmologists. "At lunch." When I arrived, Lee nor any usual staff members were at the shop. Gave a 2-star rating only because Van works there Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Well, it was great while it lasted. Grateful to have been blessed with Van and the "Real"Magic Nails. Excellent new name folks. The Unprofessionals won't last by no stretch of the imagination.
