They were efficient with the exam, diagnosed her quickly and recommended against doing extra unnecessary testing. The vet clearly has lots of experience with reptiles and knows his stuff! “We lost our precious 13-year-old girl, Sheena Marie, two weeks ago. Our amazing vet handled her final moments with us, and Hearts & Halos took care of her individual aquamation and ashes from there. We got her back this week and I am completely blown away by the care that went into everything. The handmade biodegradable paper urn with her name on a little wooden heart, the engraved paw print keepsake, the plantable seed paper hearts, and her beautiful certificate. Every single detail was thoughtful and gorgeous. We don't have a yard just yet, but when we do, we'll bury her urn and let her ashes nourish the earth. Her soul is already out in the universe, and someday she'll help grow something beautiful too. For now, she's back in her favorite corner of the house, right where she belongs. “Vet visits can sometimes feel stressful, but this is one of the few places that immediately makes both humans and pets feel more at ease. Every person and pet I encounter here has such a genuinely calm, happy, and welcoming vibe, which feels great for a veterinary place.
Our first cat fam, Clem, has been coming here for about three years now. We first brought him in as a stray we had taken in, and I still remember how kind, patient, and supportive the staff were during that experience. As someone navigating the uncertainty of helping a stray cat for the first time, their reassurance and compassion meant so much to me.
I can say that because of that experience, we recently brought in our newest family member- another rescue unhoused community cat, and the staff were just as wonderful as they were/they have been. They were calm, knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly understanding while answering all of my noob “new cat in the house” questions.
It’s rare to find a place that consistently treats both animals and people with so much warmth and kindness. I’m genuinely grateful for the care, compassion, and support this team has shown our little family over the years. “Fortunate to have this vet urgent care in Santa Monica. I was able to walk in Sunday morning when my dog had an ear infection. The staff & vet Dr. Hinchey were kind and caring. Medical treatment was comprehensive and reasonable priced (for the area). I really felt good leaving, knowing that my dog was well taken care of, treatment plan in place with a follow up scheduled.
I’ve been here a few times for urgent care over the years, as well as some other ER vets in the area, Dr. Hinchey is a gem!”
