If you value your belongings and want them to be cared for well in transport, absolutely do not hire this company to move any of your things!!!!!! I’m giving you a fair warning!!!!!!!

Too expensive

The man I worked with was late to our Video Appointment. He then insisted that something was wrong with my audio when in fact it was his headphones that were the problem. When it came time to make a promise for a Flat Rate, they were asking almost $4k to move a couple hundred miles within state. Mind you this is for 2 bedrooms worth of stuff and some packaged boxes. The man was smug when I let him know that other moving companies offered to do the move for cheaper, and had no interest in "earning" business.EDIT in response to OWNER: you have my contact information. Replies like the ones you copy-pasted are a joke.

Excellent care of my transport of numerous boxes and few furniture items by the employees. They were prompt and all items arrived in great condition. I highly recommend doing business with your moving company.

I like the concept of knowing what the cost is without having to take time out to do a walk through. Hope the idea catches on in the industry. Second move finished two days ago and went as smoothly as the first one did. Have nothing negative to say about the company, it's movers, or it's support staff. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

Worked with flatrate to move and store my property during the pandemic. During a storm their unit flooded due to improper drainage, but then they didn't notify my for 90 days of the flood so by the time they did everything was rotten, lost all my belongings. They have since not paid me anything and refuse to return calls and emails. On top of that they mischarged my credit card for storage after I moved (the now destroyed belongings) out and will not refund it. They are criminal. This story is what happened to me as well.

They will not answer my calls or emails about a piece of furniture that was left behind in my old apartment still there a week and a half after my move! The movers couldn't move it because of the narrow staircase and that they would need 5 guys to be able to maneuver it, but they said *I* had to call the "central office" to resolve it. That's some BS because they knew what furniture I had ahead of time thanks to the inventory. They should have been ready with the guys necessary for the move. They don't even have their own movers! They outsource! The movers that came were from a company called Esquire movers! They ended up costing me over $3000 and they told me they would charge me a full move out of their "free" month of storage so I had to get my own storage unit that I'll have to move out of myself. I cheaped out because Gentle Giant quoted me $5200 for the same move, but honestly I recommend avoiding the drama. Don't cheap out on movers. Get someone who will do the job right, not these unresponsive outsourcing hacks who don't even complete the job. I'm "lucky" my ex-landlord is letting the furniture piece stay during renovations of my former apartment while I fight the movers, but he texted me saying his contractors aren't responsible for any damage that comes to the furniture.

The movers were very efficient buy none of the movers wore a mask. They broke one of the marbles on the fireplace and didn't tell me about it.

FlatRate has been extremely responsive for the whole process, provided the very best pricing for my move, and hired a very skilled group of people to pick up my furniture in Seattle. The Seattle moving team was able to come in, pack up, and move all of my stuff within an hour. They respond via email or texting which is super useful especially when moving and not always having access to a computer.I would highly recommend them for anyone moving cross country.

They broke or severely damaged 5/8 pieces of my furniture. Now they are dragging the claims process out and are slow to get someone to come inspect it, knowing I can l't fit the broken stuff in my apartment and have to get rid of it in order to furnish my place. So I've been trying to get someone here for a week while living without even a table to eat on (see pictures...they demolished it.) This is more than a nightmare. Not only did I pay a bunch to have this stuff moved, they then destroyed it. I'm considering getting a family lawyer involved.

We had a great experience with the Hayward crew. They were on time, professional, and efficient (i.e., fast!). The sales & operations team were in constant communication with us leading up to our move out and the crew on the group was extremely helpful. I would recommend FlatRate.

Absolute joke of a company. They are attempting to charge me for a move I never confirmed or signed any paperwork for. I feel badly that they dispatched a truck without any confirmation of my move, but it is frankly amateur hour that they allowed it to happen. Additionally, the gentleman on the phone was unbelievably rude, put words in my mouth, and simply lied about what contact they had had with me. Avoid this company like the plague.

Worked with Flatrate moving about two months ago and they provided the easiest move I had to come back and leave them a review. They are very eager to help you move and it shows by the way they work. They completed my move in no time and done in a very professional way. I would use them again no doubt!

You know those horror stories you hear about movers and moving?? .... Well, FlatRate lives up to those and added some new chapters!! I went through the entire process - had a video call of my house and garage and arranged for full pack moving. Movers arrived and seemed legit annoyed that they were movers... one guy had driving moccasins on and spent the majority of the time smoking in my back stairs. Corporate kept calling me throughout the day saying they had to charge me more for "all the lamps" in my house (there were 2 on bedside tables that I hadn't already packed) and "art work". They also charged me extra for "wardrobe" boxes. $1100 added the day of the move, and then in transit I got another call saying another $1109 was being added for "lamps and extra wardrobe".... Nope - that was already added, but they wouldn't give up even when I said I wasn't paying that and would dispute. They also charged me over $10k for the move, even though I have signed paperwork for $6500... and keep saying they don't know why I keep reaching out to them when they've already refunded me - weird, because AMEX is pretty thorough and no refund has been issued. When they finally arrived in Santa Barbara they tried to force me to sign a piece of paper saying I would pay the extra amount and I refused and we had a full stand off at a storage unit. In short, they are trying to charge me over $10k for a 400 mile move of a 2 bedroom house. And the funniest part - those lamp boxes and wardrobe boxes were filled with a glass beverage dispenser and towels..... this company is deceitful and fraudulent.... Stay far far away!!

They were really professional! Paula and Sean helped me out with setting up my move, everything was really easy! This is my first time ever using a moving company and I have to say I'm satisfied. There's no deposit required, they'll charge your card on file 2 days prior to your moving date and I have to say the price I got was AFFORDABLE! The other companies I inquired were a little to pricing for my taste so I'm glad I went with FlatRate Moving. Really appreciate the professionalism and customer service I was provided! ?
