The room was clean, a serious problem, the shower tub was completely covered, very old, my family was not able to take a bath. We spoke to the reception and they were very friendly but said that we should call to speak with the manager and in a very despotic way a woman did not want to help us and we were not the only ones with that problem, there was another person reporting the same thing...

I am a Diamond Member. I was offered nothing when I checked in. I had the don't disturb hanging on my door, people came in anyway and left towels on the desk. Don't know why. Climate controls were not working correctly until I rebooted the thermostat. When I first checked in my room was 63F degrees inside. No bread or toaster in the breakfast area. I travel quite a bit and stay pretty much exclusively at Hampton Inn's.This stay was just not up to snuff with the other locations I stay at. I will be back next week because of the location. Hopefully I'll have a better experience.Walkability: Great BBQ place close by. Pollo Loco right next door.

Nice and clean hotel. Breakfast was good. Didn’t particularly care for the location of this hotel. Could be noisy at time with cars on the street and Oakland area in general is messy.

Always our favorite place to stay when we visit the East Bay. Quiet, perfectly located, clean, well maintained and very affordable. A special recognition is deserved by Brianna, who was especially nice and helpful when we had some needs and questions.

An employee told us there’s new management here and it shows! The front desk clerk was horrible saying my card was declined but it was their system that was down. No resolution offered after I complained. Won’t stay here again!

Nice and clean. We were greeted with a welcome and some bottles of water. Ice bens & vending machines are close to the rooms. Laundry room for guests. Free breakfast (yummy).

We have been staying at Hampton Inn Oakland-Hayward consistently for 6 years whenever we visit our daughter and family in the area...at least twice a year. This has been a quality experience with every stay: clean, comfortable rooms, very satisfying breakfast, and tremendous staff. This is a welcoming destination. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else for our family visits.

I travel all the time. This is definitely a hotel that is not worth the price I paid. I’m not sure what the good people of Hayward are thinking when they give it an 8.5 on Priceline but as someone who has already spent about $15,000 in travel just this year, I don’t understand.First of all I was told security deposit was $50 when I called, and when I checked in , I was told it was $100 -Yet again, as people who travel like I do know, we have hundreds of dollars that may be blocked up from incidental deposits that have not cleared with the bank, so this becomes very important to us.The property itself is outdated, a new paint job doesn’t make it better, which is what I think they’re going for. It was nice to see a microwave which most of the business class hotels I go to don’t usually have. So when I went downstairs to the lobby to see what the market had-they had no food for the microwave.Upside is its clean. I mean if it wasn’t clean, I’d be out of here. Save your money and go somewhere else. Absolutely not worth it do better Hilton.

The front desk was awful when we check in as addtional guests with name already listed with our reservation. The front desk guy Antony was not helpful at all and was very rude to us. Worst experience with any hotel ever.

Our room and the hotel in general was really nice and clean. The staff was super friendly as well. The check in and check out process was easy and not stressful. I would definitely book this hotel again.

My daughter and I were in Castro Valley for my parents' 60th wedding anniversary. I knew it was going to be a late night and wouldn't have the energy to drive home to San Jose, so I booked a hotel a few days before. Since I wanted to rack up some points, this was the closest and cheapest Hilton hotel in the area. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was a couch where I put all my crap.. er, stuff. The shower in the bathroom was decent. My daughter loved the smells of the shampoo, soap, and lotion. I'm just relieved the fragrance was not strong. My daughter's only complaint was that there was no hot tub. She was ready to go swimming but decided not to when the pool was cold and no hot tub to warm up. But she had fun watching TV instead. I don't know what channels it offers, but she found something to enjoy. There were a lot of choices for breakfast. We got up late and realized breakfast would be closing in 5 minutes!!! We ran down there and they have not put things away! Whew! They let us get our food but closed the door at 10 AM. Coffee and tea were available 24 hours! There were waffle makers, oatmeal, eggs, sausages, cereal, pastries, yogurt, and different juices. I wish they had more fruit than apples, maybe they did, I probably didn't see them because we were in a hurry! I had waffles, eggs, and sausages. It's not 5 stars, but definitely satisfied my taste buds. We only stayed here from about 1:30 AM Sunday morning to 12 PM Sunday afternoon. I have no complaints whatsoever. I was able to check in and get a digital key on my app, but the front desk still gave me a card key. From the third floor, we had a lovely view of the parking lot where I could check on my car.Free Wi-Fi. Free Parking. Woo hoo!
