I work nights and come in before my shift a few times a week to pick up small items and never fails every time I go to the checkout line they only have one open and the line is long. Every time for the past 3 weeks I’ve started going in the late evenings. Other than that, it’s clean and decent prices .

Conveniently near the freeway. Area is known for crime, homelessness, and shootings so going during the day is best. Produce is always fresh and their ready made sandwiches are always good. Ive witnessed a lot of things going to this store for decades..

The customer service agent literally ripped the coupons out my hand and said it was for the previous customer. Coupons sitting at the printer, no customer around. This isn’t the first time this tall gentleman has given me issue.

As a disabled man, I have two worn out knees that need replacing, but due to my size, i am unable to have the surgeries. I went in the store, wesring my brand new $85.00 left knee brace, and in riding their electric store scooter, i came up to an end cap of the deli counter, and the cap stuck out, and caught my new brace, and it broke the hinge, and ripped the cover of it. The manager came and i explained the whole incident to him, he said he had to go look at the video, he came back and gave me his business card, a claim # and a number to call. It took about 3 weeks they even offered $150.00 in groceries, i turned it down, all i wanted was for a replacement knee brace, which i got. Ive been shopping there for about 10 years now, but my most disappointing time was trying to "Instacart" from that store, because I know what they have, and where its at in the store, but having tremendous difficulties with "Instacart" i found out that the "Instacart" comes from a different store farther away from my home, and dont have the varieties that the closer store has!

Friendly staff, decent prices but be sure to check best by dates. Ended up with a $16 bag of coffee that expired last year ?

Although at times they could afford to get another aisle opened up, they're really a very great group of employees that I've come to know well after 12+ years of shopping there. And prices are high across the country...so I can't really fault Luckys for that.

My favorite store was Lucky’s at Santa Clara St, Hayward. But not any more because of the checkout difficulties. I went after a busy day at work and picked up 18 items. The associate at the self checkout knows me very well as I am a regular customer (I have been shopping at this location for over ten years). However, last time she was rude to me when I went to the self checkout. She said that I should go to the cashier at the register. I wanted to go, but I noticed only one register was open and had a long line. I said I only have 18 items and she did not believe me; she rudely said that I had “way more than 18”. I went to the self checkout and scanned my items as two transactions due to the new self checkout policy. I will not be returning here to shop, and I suggest other people take their patronage to a different store where customer service is more of a priority.
