Hours: Spectrum Community Services is a non-profit organization that enhances the quality of life for older adults and residents experiencing low income in Alameda County. These caring, wonderful people are heroes who make a huge difference. The organization provides important and needed services in the SF Bay Area. They help with electric bills, though clients must continue to pay their bill and will be credited after paperwork is completed. They also prepare great meals for the elderly, distributed in areas like West Oakland. Their weatherization services can include a new heating system, new smoke detectors, new light bulbs, and a new carbon monoxide unit. Staff are professional and respectful of home and beliefs. This incredible organization is highly recommended. Their professional efforts improve lives and homes immensely. The office is in Hayward but closed to the public; they do not serve LIHEAP clients in-person or hand out applications at the office.
