Stay away from Russian River storage U-Haul rental. It was the Absolute worst U-Haul rental and customer service encounter ever. Everything started out fine, but then we experienced problems at every step of our trip. Once loaded with furniture, the truck had a two tire blowout and we had to wait over six hours for roadside assistance. Granted that we were in a semi-remote location, but we stressed that we had no food, or water and an 82 year old traveling companion. No matter. We contacted the originating rental facility, Russian River Storage, and they said they could not help. We finally received assistance, but were so delayed that we had to drive through the night and incurred unplanned overnight hotel and meal costs. When we finally completed the round-trip excursion and returned the truck, we were later charged with unfounded extra fuel costs, higher per mile fees, an extra day rental, and an absurd cleaning fee. When we questioned the fuel and cleaning fee, they did not produce a photo of the gas gauge and sent a photograph that showed the truck had been filled with dirt that they had clearly planted after the fact since we had only moved furniture. Let me be clear... This is not an indictment of U-Haul corporate, but rather the rental facility Russian River Storage. Russian River storage subsequently and repeatedly attempted to charge my 82 year old friend $800+ in fees when we had previously agreed on a ~$500 round-trip fee. The only saving grace in this whole sordid experience was my interaction with U-Haul corporate. The regional Manager, Bret, was very empathetic and investigated and resolved the situation quickly. Other corporate U-Haul team members were also very responsive, supportive and helpful. In the end, corporate U-Haul made everything right. And I appreciate that. At the same time, I cannot dissuade people from dealing with Russian River U-Haul and specifically the assistant manager, Michael enough.

Recently needed to find a spot to store an RV. Called at least Five different facilities none of which impress me a bit until I called Russian River Covered RV Storage. Lois was extremely accommodating got me into a spot right away at a very fair price. Porn rival with the little Richard help get me set up in place. The facility is super clean and looks very secure. They are not only store RVs but I saw classic cars boats all kinds of the different vehicles there And they also offer small storage pods or like big sheds we could lock stuff up on site. I don't leave a lot of reviews but when someone goes out of the way and does a fine job I feel obligated. This is a great facility and I hardly highly recommend it. Eric S.

Not only are they expensive for their moving supplies, but their inventory is low. Worst of all there is a sign that says Masks required and when I walked in either employee had on a mask

We rented 2 spaces for 2 vehicles while we waited for our house to be rebuilt. What a great experience! From the day we signed the contract to the day we closed our contract (got our garage back!) we had such a pleasurable experience. The owners were friendly and extremely helpful - especially when one of our vehicles needed a jump. They tried to help jump the vehicle and when that didn't work they went out of their way to continue to try to jump it with a battery charger. All in all - a very pleasurable experience - including the dogs!

It's a pretty simple analysis for me. It's an excellent facility with great staff. And it is expensive. I don't think it works for a long term storage at these rates.

Don't go to this rental yard if you actually want to rent something at your scheduled time of pick up. They don't keep a careful log of the comings and goings of their inventory. Extremely disappointing to expect to pick something up at the designated time only to be told "sorry someone forgot to write down that the truck wasn't going to be available". It was moving day for us with NO vessel in which to transport.

Although I've only just started storing my rv with these folks (2 days), let me tell you about the process of getting started and set up with them. I first spoke with Lois via phone about renting space. I live in another state, but am temporarily stationed in the Bay Area, and plan to have my newly purchased vintage rv renovated before returning. Lois made the transactions very easy, emailing me a contract to fill out, sign, and email back. She talked to me about paying extra for insurance (very low and reasonable) until I can get my rv registered and insured in my home state. When I arrived with my rv, the gal behind the counter (so sorry I don't remember her name) was very helpful with the process of signing a few forms for policies, liability issues, etc., the usual things you would expect. They offer different payment choices (automatic (or not), reminder emails (or not), etc.), which you don't usually find anymore (everything automatic). The office and the grounds are spotless, well-maintained, beautiful landscaping. I mention this because other places look little more than an afterthought rv graveyard. This place has gated entry, perimeter fencing, 24-hour cameras, and a lot more. In other words, they care about keeping your rv safe, instead of just making money. Yes, it does cost a little more than some places, but it is well worth it. You get what you pay for. Lastly, I need to give a good shout-out to Mark! He was the gentleman who took the time, and has the patience of a saint, to show this first time rv owner (who'd never even towed an rv before that day) how to back my rv into my space. I was already in such emotional state from nervously towing it 30 miles from it's former location, then I ended up getting stuck when I tried to back it in myself (YouTube videos are great, but nothing like practical experience). He walked me through it, never losing patience, and explained the rational behind how to move the trailer with what seems like a counter-intuitive way to move the steering wheel (at least for me). This is a busy place, especially during Labor Day weekend, but he never once made me feel like I was wasting his time. The customer service at Russian River Covered Rv Storage is outstanding, and after having researched other businesses and finding you get what you pay for, I'd recommend RRCRS without a doubt.

They reel you in with introductory rates and soon enough your paying $240 a month to have u hauls blocking your way in and out of your site, leaking roofs and picking the lovely new asphalt out of your tires and off the side of your vehicle. Update: conveniently they raise rates to $256 a month just after the Sonoma county fires. They claim it's due to rising costs. The only thing rising is they're rates. The storage fees will almost be more than most tenants RV payments.
