This particular location is going to close, store currently is very disorganized because they are liquidating product but everything is on sale. For those of us in Hemet the closest Big Lots location will be Beaumont

Either manager (at least I'm guessing he was manager since the clerk called him) isn't trained well, was having an "off day," or their system is "controlled" elsewhere (maybe all the above), making it impossible to change a price - price discrepancy from website, shelf price and scanned price. When I held up my phone to show him the website price, he glanced quickly as he's walking by (and couldn't have possibly even seen it) and told me that wasn't their website (so he's basically calling me, a customer, a liar). WHAT? Told him it absolutely was as I had put the item in my cart while online. Doesn't he have easy access to check the online listed price? I suspect prices of ALL stores are entered (in stone) from some central location, so it may be impossible for it to be changed in any way. He was having issues getting item entered with "corrected" price (possibly due to the system itself being controlled elsewhere), and ended up taking some off, but NOW I have "NON-RETURNABLE" item on my receipt for THEIR error. Interestingly, when I got home less than an hour later and checked online, it shows Hemet doesn't have any available - they had three after my purchase so guessing that was screwed up when he was messing with the price difference. I was trained in retail years ago...had we ever treated a customer this way, it would not have gone well. In our break room hung a sign that read "YOU COME FIRST...RIGHT AFTER THE CUSTOMER!" It takes BOTH customers and employees to make a successful business, but without good management and training, starting at the very top, you won't have well trained employees to hang onto the customers. How it should have been handled was first, instead of telling me that wasn't their website, is an apology for the inconvenience and a "promise" to remedy the situation. NEVER imply a customer is lying...FIRST rule of training. Second..."non-returnable" should have NEVER been added to my receipt for this situation. So... better training from corporate/the top, I'm thinking.

I bought a $500 fireplace took it home assembled it and does not even turn on. Call the furniture manager for her only to say they dont have anymore and I can take display model. I want the new one I paid for. Sorry we have none in stock and do not know when they will. A refund is all I can do. I want the fireplace since I purchased with progressive leasing option for 90 days and bought other items. $1300 purchase total. Worst customer service!

Wow. Big lots has upgraded. Very nice location and helpful staff. My daughter and I really enjoyed shopping here.

I was informed that I can purchase a damaged display set since they don't have one in stock as long as I can haul the item away immediately. I came back two days later with my truck and another person to help and they refused to sell me the display. I informed them what another associate had told me two days prior and they simply told me that the associate was wrong even though I heard the associate on the phone with the manager that day. Total waste of time. A very condescending employee in the furniture area.Edit: The store manager, Jake, sent us to Beaumont, and the dining set is out of stock there too. Thank you for wasting my time and gas.

No available carts out front but they have a bunch locked up that they won't unlock. The items here used to be clearance/outlet prices but now they cost more than Walmart. I was struggling to carry 4 large pillows without a cart, I kept dropping them, and no employee seemed to care. Came here for pillows and a multipack of water (figured it'd be the same price as Walmart but quicker). The same pillows are several dollars more here than they at Walmart and they were out of water so now I have to go to Walmart anyway. So it was a waste of time/money. Reminds me why I stopped coming here.
