One of the most wonderful places I've been to, the care that's taken with the animals and making a difference in the world ?. 5 stars from me...What a paradise for senior animals to spend the last cycle of their lives! I am here on holiday from the UK and wanted to visit the San Diego Zoo but due to circumstances was unable to fit it in my schedule but to my surprise I found a hidden gem in Julian. Villa Chardonnay Horses with Wings, inc a sanctuary for unwanted animals, the love and care that is given to these animals is noticed from the moment you approach the property. I was overwhelmed with joy that 100% of the furry residents were given a forever home here. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget. I can still the love of the animals. Thank you Villa Chardonnay for opening the doors to your haven and count on us as new supporters. We look forward to visiting again..I'm michael Hill from yeadon west yorkshire England.

Monika and Mercedes have the most gentle souls. The sanctuary is absolutely beautiful and the animals are well loved and taken care of. A little piece of heaven on earth.

VILLA CHARDONNAY Horses with Wings, is truly a wonderful sanctuary for Horses and all of Gods creations.I have visited this place twice in 3 years (as resent as February 2024) and the need continues to grow, as do the animals in need of help. Some are blind, some with life-long injuries, some abused, malnourished, and left to die in pastures or streets of this state and outside of it. The owners who personally manage this refuge for animals, are truly "angels from above." They tirelessly care for needy animals with a relatively modest staff. I urge everyone that have a similiar love for animals to donate financially whatever they can to keep this santuary functioning. It is a nonprofit, so all donations are tax deductible. Include them in your Living Trust as we have, or help annually. Villa Chardonnay also continues to add on to their santuary for the kitties, so more can live a life in the safety of a building and outdoor enclosure in nice weather. The owners are the "real deal" with endless love for the animals entrusted to them. Corporate donations help enormously to sustain well over 200 horses, and many more friends. Just imagine what it takes to feed and care for 200+ horses. Add to that number all the other animals being cared for each and every day. I pray they continue their mision of love for many decades.

Villa Chardonnay is such an amazing and special place. Monika and Mercedes are doing such wonderful work taking care of the animals. I have volunteered there and it is a special place and you can see how well the animals are cared for at their forever home. It truly is a sanctuary and a great place to donate or volunteer at if you are looking for an opportunity to help animals!

this sanctuary is absolute paradise for animals of all kinds, from cats and dogs, to goats, horses, cows, and more.. every rescued animal here is free to live out their lives and enjoy their beautiful surroundings with love and special care. I was very impressed by the cattery, with dozens of cats living harmoniously in a clean and cozy environment. once the weather is nicer, the cats will be able to enjoy a dreamy, secure outdoor space that was recently constructed, with a fountain, lots of perches, and views of wild turkeys and horses. monika was so kind to share a good part of her afternoon with us, introducing us to all the cats and telling us where they came from. she knows and cares deeply about each and every animal here. please consider donating to help villa chardonnay continue the important, life-saving work they’ve been doing for animals for over 20 years.

It’s really good to know there are people out there with such a great heart that take all of those animals that are rejected by others, I have seen first hand how hard these ladies work to keep this place running. I love this place the energy feels really nice there. I enjoyed sitting under a huge tree in the property it was so peaceful.

I have no words.They are abosulty the best. The animal angels on this earth. God bless Monika and her team. I am enterally grateful and will always be for their kindness and for giving my horse an opporuntity on having a better life. Under my circumstances facing difficult time in my life i was pushed to give up my bestfriend. My fur baby. That was the last thing i would have wanted to do. After rescuing him from ppl that mistreated him i care for him for over 10 yrs. Gave him all the love i had to give. I promised my self that i wont let him go and it breaks my heart having to break that promise but i had no choice. I am extremely grateful with given the opportunity to take him in. I called over 10+ places and was turned down. VILLA CHARDONNAY was the only one that gave him an opportunity to live his rest of happy years. I will always cherish them and look forward in volunteering and giving back to help not only my horse but others too. Thank you so much Monika. You are an amazing person.

What a wonderful experience with great people. Monika and Mercedes were welcoming, and spending time with them, and the horses was a magical experience. We left with full hearts—a marvelous place for animals who need a loving forever home. We visited a few horses from Ventura County who needed a sanctuary that they had taken in some months ago. What a difference, a place to call home with other animals who are so loved and cared for at Villa Chardonnay. Thank you, Monika and Mercedes, for an exceptional experience. We feel privileged to have spent time with the animals and you both.

The Angels Monika and Mercedes and all that help to care for the helpless rescue critters are wonderful, caring people. Those animals are cared for and loved. The place was so clean and tended to. They should be commended for all the work and effort they put into this wonderful place. The tour did my heart and soul a world of good. Please donate to this place and help these angels to continue helping our babies.

Thank you Monika & Mercedes for the wonderful visit we had this week! Our boys looked so happy and content and it made my heart full to see they were bonding with the others! We loved seeing the awesome grounds with all the wild ducks, turkeys, and other creatures, all welcome at the Sanctuary. The catery is beautiful with so much enrichment for the kitties! Can't wait to see the catio when it's completed!The amount of love and effort that has gone into making a dream forever home for all the animals is is obvious! Bless you Angels and we can't wait to come visit again!

January 13, 2021 I had the pleasure of touring the whole property of Villa Chardonnay. I was able to observed each and every animal on the property. The owners/custodians Mercedes and Monika were a delight to be around and hospitable.All equine were in good physical health, had more then enough room to thrive in, a vast amount of feed, protection from the elements and all were well mannered.Their pig was well taken care of by having its own isolated area that was clean, had full protection from the elements and raised off the ground. Plenty of feed was present and the pig seem comfy in its living quarters.The goats seemed friendly and lively in there gated area. The living area provided protection from the elements and looked to receive frequent cleaning. All goats looked to be in good physical health.The dogs on the property all receive their own living areas on the property. All dogs looked to be in good physical health, friendly and well mannered. Dogs outside had a lovely shed to house four grown adults and the dogs inside have the pleasure of a more than large enough living quarters.The felines on the property are housed in a extremely large living area with feed, water and enrichment for each feline times three. The large area was clean, peaceful, inviting and even had a cat-tio.... yes I said a cat patio that allows the cats to enjoy the outside without be bothered by the flies, wildlife and to enjoy sun bathing.Overall this equine and animal sanctuary is an great example of how to care, love and show respect for animals.Thank you to all the caretakers of the sanctuary for all their care and work that is done.Sincerely,Melvin Sparks IIICity of Norco Animal Control Services Superintendent
