Just went in to get a deli sandwich on my lunch. I saw the lady working the deli counter roll her eyes at the couple in front of me when they kept asking for different items for the hot foods. After she served them she proceeded to help another customer that was there after me in the hot foods. Initially my thought was maybe she only worked the hot foods but when I asked the lady who was Rolling sushi the other lady yelled from across the room that she would be with me in a minute when she's done rudely. I understand a deli clerk can be a hard job as I worked as a deli clerk before but if you don't have good customer service skills and you are not happy with the job maybe you should look for somewhere else to be because the customers did nothing to you. If you can't handle it then leave. Sorry.

Went to Safeway to get a specific cut of meat. Walked to the meat department and spoke to Carlos the butcher and he got what I needed right away.... Super customer service and I could tell he was a great worker. Definitely recommend the meat department.

I live closer to the El Cerrito Safeway and I drive all the way to Hercules. This one looks cleaner and a better sense of security. The only thing I dislike about this Safeway is the parking lot. I do like it offers more like a safer bank, a coffee shop and a gas station.

As a resident of Hercules I am very disappointed with Safeway-Hercules. I have experienced long wait times for Deli service and my recent ultimate issue is this...on last Thursday I went to order pinwheel sandwiches and a fruit tray that is on their catering on line menu. The lady at the deli counter said "I'm sorry we don't have anyone to make this for you". "I want to pick it up on Sunday morning" was my response. "Okay but we won't be able to make that for you". I didn't understand what she meant. No deli person at all and it's Thursday and don't need this until Sunday. "Okay, I need to talk with a manager". I went to the customer service desk and I asked a female employee to call for a manager. The assistant manager walk over, can I help you? I told him my request for pick up on Sunday. "I'm sorry ma'am but we don't have the staff to make this order for you". I said "let me understand, you can't fill this order by Sunday? His reply..."I can't even get anyone to fill the Boar's Head deli case". I was stunned at his reply and unnecessary comment about the obvious lack of performance of his staff, to me as a customer. Very unprofessional and no effort to have a satisfied customer, make sales (approx $139) and no positive energy. Very, very disappointed as I left the store and was baffled by this person who is "managing" a major chain supermarket. Went to Tara Hills Safeway and was greeted by the Deli counter worker. "Yes, we can and here is your catering book and order form." and was given suggestions and made a few changes. Order placed. Picked up Sunday morning! Safeway execs and area managers, if you really care about satisfied customers, and I'm sure you care about making "sales" in all areas of the store including catering orders. Think outside the box and partner with Tara Hills for training and staffing and offer employee incentives to give the service that the community needs. My background is management customer service in restaurants and hotels. Let me know if you need more ideas.

We love the store, especially my daughter. Since they opened it is our goto store. We generally have good experience EXCEPT for this one guy-Jose I think is his name. He somehow give us/me a hard time. One day my daughter went in with her roller blades, he told her to take it off, as we are rolling to go outside so she can take them off, Jose followed and kept chasting us and demanded she take them off immediately on the spot, which is unreasonable as there are no chairs or bench for her to sit and do so. This AFTER I apologized and said we are going outside to take them off. Another time we were in the wine section, employee told us to go to self check out. My husband was doing the scanning, but Jose decided to come lecture ME about no alcohol beverages at self checkout!! I said why are you yelling at ME as I am not the one doing the checkout!!!!!! Both times a manager had to come and put him in his place, and told him to put on a smile, as he always look like he is mad at the world.

Saying goodbye to Safeway Delivery. My last 'delivery was due by 4pm." No delivery. Called Safeway should be here soon. Waited until 6 pm. No delivery. Called phone number listed of the delivery person no answer. Called El Cerrito store no answer. Had dinner plans . Came home after 9 pm. Checked my phone a delivery was attempted at 8 pm!!! What the hell!!!. I'm suppose to wait an additional 4 hours in hope my groceries are delivered! . It seems Safeway is hiring people who work at there own pace. Have been a customer of Safeway Delivery service for over 4 years. Don't think spending $99.00 a year for delivery service is working anyone. Been using Whole Foods recently excellent service cost a little more but no problems with delivery or products ." Goodbye Safeway it was nice knowing ya."

No customer service at all, waited at customer service counter and I even asked an employee if anyone was working at the counter, employee said they should be there, heard him call it out on the intercom that a customer needs assistance at the counter, then I saw and heard another employee to tell him that the person doesn't start until 5 pm, it was 4:10 pm, employee told me to go over the gas station instead if I need assistance. Unacceptable

6 cashier lanes only 1 wants to work. Unmotivated workers, supervisors are probably sitting in their office while one is sweating to serve 12 people in line

The city of Hercules should have never put this here. It's in a terrible location. It's understaffed and always out of stock on common items. The people who work there seem to be trying pretty hard. But they don't seem to be able to keep up with the flow of traffic

Title: Disappointing Decline in Quality I have been a long-time customer of Safeway and have always enjoyed their fried chicken. However, my recent experience yesterday has left me quite disappointed. The chicken not only had an unpleasant aftertaste resembling used oil but also seemed to signify a decline in overall quality. It's disheartening to witness a once-reliable product taking a downward turn. The aftertaste was particularly off-putting and detracted from the overall enjoyment of the meal. I hope Safeway addresses these concerns and takes steps to maintain or even improve the quality of their fried chicken. As a loyal customer, I believe constructive feedback is crucial for improvement. I sincerely hope Safeway considers these remarks and works towards restoring the standard of their fried chicken.

Very pleasant Safeway to shop at! The cleanliness of this location is amazing and it is almost always spotless. Everything is always organized and stocked. And, I've never had a difficult time checking out as they are very efficient and on track with reducing lines. The staff here also are very friendly and go above and beyond. I received great service with Nitisha at check-out and Carlos at the Butcher counter specifically. While their parking lot is sometimes a mess because of how busy this location is, it is never too much of a hassle to not shop at. I haven't tried the food they serve yet, but looking forward to checking it out soon!

There are some good helpful workers here! Store is always clean, Sometimes there is lines, but I notice they do there very best to get you out as quickly as they can. The evening Deli staff is nice as well as the sandwich makers, but there is a Lady in the Deli that's kinda tall can barely speak any English and it's very frustrating at times, I notice she caters to her own each time I'm there. Sometimes I think she acts like she doesn't understand to get out of being helpful. Other than the parking lot traffic, I like this Safeway.
