There are some good helpful workers here! Store is always clean, Sometimes there is lines, but I notice they do there very best to get you out as quickly as they can.The evening Deli staff is nice as well as the sandwich makers, but there is a Lady in the Deli that's kinda tall can barely speak any English and it's very frustrating at times, I notice she caters to her own each time I'm there. Sometimes I think she acts like she doesn't understand to get out of being helpful. Other than the parking lot traffic, I like this Safeway.

One of my favorite grocery stores are Safeway , but not the one in Hercules the beautiful city that is my home for 32 years,Dirty,disorganize , believe it or not they even sell their a day old doughnut from night before which is unbelievable,Lets take about Gas station, Safeway all around bay are average 40-50 cents cheaper then others but this one is comparing him self to Shell gas station across the street about $.05-$.10 cheaper than that and 60 cents expensive than Safeway gas station in Vallejo plus have nothing to wash your windshield when I asked him about it they said people are stealing it ???

The store is clean and well organized. Staff are friendly and helpful. Produce is wonderful, and selections of fish and poultry were fresh and plentiful.

I wouldn't get your ribeye steaks here. The one I got was scrap meat glued together. How is the cap coming apart into 4 pieces??

I wish I could give it a less than zero star, but, no supermarket store is that bad.in fairness, when it comes to selections and location, this Safeway gets a 5 star rating.I am giving it 1 star due to the service, or lack of service that I received from the deli department.Went there today, 09/09/23, around 1745.I wanted to buy some fried chicken for dinner.There was zero customers in front of me, I am the only customer, and there were 2 attendants behind the counter slicing deli meat.I stood there for more than 5 minutes, the 2 attendants occasionally looking at me, and neither one of them stop whatever they were doing and asked me if I needed assistance or told me that they would help me once their present tasks were done.Totally, terrible, service.I will never come back to this Safeway.Really bad service at the deli department.

Overall, it's a good store. Parking is not very good and now they allow people to stand out front and ask for money. There was a young man today saying he was raising money for his basketball team so I gave him a few dollars and asked him if he was from Hercules high school he said no but he couldn't tell me what high school he went to, but he knew it was in Oakland. Really? Also, lately I've seen people run out the front door, holding groceries they didn't pay for maybe they should hire some security, and be more careful about who they let "fund raise" in front of their store.

Dear Safeway:Went into your Hercules store on Sunday morning. After shopping for about an hour, I discovered:One cashier was working. Nobody was bagging.I don't expect a self-service experience from a full-service grocer.THE CASHIER COMPLAINED THAT I WASN'T HELPING HIM...HE CONTINUED TO COMPLAIN WHEN I DECLINED TO DO HIS JOB.IN FACT, HE WOULDN'T STOP. HE STARTED THROWING MY FOOD AROUND.(A better move would have been to bag my groceries and call for assistance. Someone doing shelving work should have come to the front of the store to assist him.)I can go to Lucky and get better customer service.If I'm going to bag, I can get better prices at Grocery Outlet.Nob Hill is a little further from my house but is a nicer store with staff that knows how to act.*You aren't running a cooperative.*Your competition has baggers.It's up to cashiers to know to ask for help when they are overworked.Maybe this okay for some of your customers, but I don't want to scan or bag $250 in purchases myself when the expectation is that someone is providing that service and it's included in the price that I'm paying.You can fix this, or I can go back to shopping at Nob Hill.

Shopping at Hercules Safeway is beautiful. They have self check out which I love!!! It has a Starbucks too. I love that we have Safeway gas station!!! ⛽️?. The cons are they have a weird crammed-up small parking lot that they share with Case Bank and Pete’s Coffee.I wish they didn't have the bank and Peets Coffee because we would had more parking.

At this time seems decent. I could imagine this would have terrible parking during regular business hours. Small parking lot but big store with a gas station.

The parking lot is a nightmare so if you manage to get into it, be aware that by the time you get back to your car, it’s gonna be beat up. I just bought blueberries there tonight and pay 799 for them. Open them up and they are full of mold. Shop at luckys

I sent this email on your website on May 2nd and heard no response. Is this how you run your business? I visited your new Hercules store this morning and only self check out was available. I had 37 items in my cart, including gift cards. I was directed to the security section of the store where you buy liquor, that was the only checker, with 4 people in line. They told me to go to self checkout, I asked if a regular register was open, as I didn't want to check out my over $400 worth of groceries myself. They said no. So, I proceed to scan all my groceries, and bag them. I needed assistance (override) for the 9 gift cards I purchased. I also needed them to help with a coupon discount that was on the shelf but not showing on the register. The last person to help me, was very sweet and was sympathetic to my situation. I explained I was really frustrated and disappointed with the fact no checkers were available when I needed to check out, and I told her my frustration was not with her but this store. She was very nice (African American woman, I say this because others also had to help during this transaction, but they seemed as frustrated as me). I go to your store for a particular type of service and I was very disappointed that I was told I had to pay you (offer my labor for free) because this store was not run correctly. I spent at least 15 minutes working for your company for free (this doesn't include my waiting in line). I would like to be compensated. I didn't agree to this forced labor. Please let me know how you will make me whole and convince me to shop at your store again.
