As a New Zealander living in the States, I was used to a completely different experience regarding taxes: the when, the how, especially self employed. I have always had great interactions with everyone at Beach Cities, Mike, Liz, both were understanding and compassionate and laid it all out so clearly for me. Always an easy stress free engagement.

Hands down, Mike is the best tax guy I have ever used. I have had Mike prepare my taxes for many years now for both my personal and my business returns. I've used other tax professionals and I've also done my own taxes. I have always felt that I was either leaving money on the table and overpaying the FTB/IRS or I felt that I was doing something wrong and would be getting a letter telling me that I still owe money and late fees. I never feel that way when I'm done with my taxes here. I know they are done, done right, and documented well. Doing taxes is right up there with going to the dentist for a root canal but I actually look forward to talking with Mike and his super friendly staff at tax time. Thanks Beach Cities!

I have been using Beach Cities Income Tax for 8 years - and I cannot say enough about the diligence, professionalism and effectiveness of Mike as my Tax Preparer. His insights and knowledge have saved be significantly on my taxes over the years. Somehow, tax day is now an exciting day I look forward to every year. Paying Mike's small fee is one of the better investments you can make, and I could not recommend him higher.

Can't say enough about Mike and the rest of the team at Beach Cities Income Tax. This is my second year going to them - they're efficient, super friendly, and most of all saved me significantly on my taxes. Mike is worth every penny.

I've never given 5 stars to anyone until now. Mike is simply awesome. I see some complaints about the price and I understand why some might balk at it, but those folks should be going to HR Block or doing their taxes themselves anyway. All tax guys are not created equal, and therefore some justify more chalupas. Mike is one of those guys, with his knowledge, comportment, and efficiency whose service are well worth it, to me.

I've been going to Beach Cities for the last five years and it's made taxes so much easier for me. I collect my documents, make an appointment and then give it all to Mike so he can process my filing and explain to me where I'm at. He's good at asking me questions to make sure I'm claiming everything I can to get me in the best tax position possible. He is very easy to talk to and doesn't mind me asking as many questions. I'm very happy with Beach Cities and plan on coming here to do my taxes for the foreseeable future!

I used to hate doing my taxes or getting them done. It's hard to find someone who will break down the tax laws and take the time to explain them to me much less truly understand and can interpret those laws as well. Then I gave Beach Cities a try thanks to a friend that referred me. My whole attitude towards taxes has changed since I met Mike! Not only does he take the time to explain the tax laws to me that seem to change every year, he asks very detailed questions to ensure that nothing is left out. It becomes very apparent right away that Mike has extensive knowledge of the tax laws and knows how to apply them to ensure your filing is done correctly and to your best advantage. He also doesn't mind taking the time to answer the many questions I have to strategize my financial planning. Now I look forward to getting my taxes done because of the great service and patience that Mike and his staff provide! I learn from him every time we talk!

I never use them and can't provide a substantial review. But I am here to provide a little bit of info. If you are calling this firm and looking for an accountant, please keep two things in mind: 1) They charge a minimum of $500 for a tax return. Your income needs to meet the minimum of 6+ figures threshold. I guess this is not too difficult for most of the residents of south bay. 2). There is no initial consultation session. You can't interview them and decide whether you want to hire them. You have to hire them without ever talking to any of their principals to get the 1st appointment with whomever they assign you. Have you ever heard of that? I have never gotten a job without going for an interview nor have I hired any service without talking and qualifying the providers. So I walked. You can decide for yourselves. Hope this helps.

Amazing to work with! My husband has been using him for his tax preparation for years. I used him for the first time last year when we got married and he made the normal pain of tax season painless and was so fun to work with. He took care of everything I needed so well that I returned to have him help me set up my corporation for my small business. I couldn't believe how fast he was. He knows everything so well that he made the intimidating process so easy and took care of all the paperwork. I'm honestly so happy I found him and have him to help/take care of all my tax needs. I sing his praises to everyone I know. Save yourself time searching and just book your appointment. :-)

We got our taxes done today with Mike and the service was excellent! He got us in and out in less than hour with a nice refund.
