Very unfriendly and rude! He seemed like an owner looking man. Went in to politely buy lotto tickets. However, the man seemed extremely miserable and unhappy as he threw back my change! I hope things get better for you young man. Everyone deserves to be happy!! Don't give up!!! I am rooting for you kid!! I might check up on you in the future and look to upgrade you to two stars.

Thank you to Jan and Jose for always being so nice! I've came here for many years whenever I was on hermosa pier and even though things are pricy it make sense when you right on the pier.. I feel like they always treat me well and greet me with a smile! I will always appreciate them respecting me and loving to see me when I show up! I am here to just write a huge THANK YOU! I feel like if someone remembers me and treats me with love even when they don't see me as frequent it means a lot. Thank you for always staying open so those who need water, ( for themselves or a friend/stranger can get it)! Being close to bars a lot of people need water! I was glad I could help somebody that night that needed it!

Horrible experience I was on my rode my bike And it was a very hot day I was actually overheating I needed to get something to drink and a quick snack I am a road cyclist my bike is extremely expensive he told me to leave my bike outside I was merely just going to lean it gently So I could keep an eye TOM the manager refused to let me do that and said too bad you should have a lock And would not let me purchase anything I explained to him I wasn't feeling well he didn't care. I hope the rest of the cycling community bans this store. He should be ashamed of himself.

I went into the liquor store a little after midnight last night to purchase three water bottles. The cashier then told me that I owed him $16!! I said "how much are the water bottles?!" I could tell that I caught him off guard and he began to try to come up with an explanation for the astronautical price. (Please note that I was sober but most in the store at this hour are not.) After telling him that the prices of the waters were not listed that high, he changed the price without saying anything else and wouldn't even look me in the eye. Not sure if overcharging people is a usual game he plays? Just be sure you're paying attention before handing over your payment.

Spent time at the beach this weekend and did not want to pay a premium for drinks to be crowded outside for "patio seating" at nearby options. Came to Robert's Liquor after lunch and found a good selection of drinks, got my brown bags, and off to sand I went. Good stop for alchy and snacks without having to leave the area and fight for parking again

My favorite thing to do at Hermosa Beach Pier is pick up a bottle or two of my favorite alcohol at Robert's Liquor, and a few snacks before I hit the beach! This liquor store literally has everything you need for a fun beach day! A wide selection of alcohol and snacks, sunscreens, energy drinks, even pressed bottled juices ! To answer a few concerns that I've seen on this yelp page 1. For those who are complaining about the prices of the items ; I've bought a wide variety of things here and the prices seem pretty fair to me . Also, you're at Hermosa beach guys ... if you can afford to make it out here I'm sure you can afford these "overpriced" items . If not , stick to your neighborhood liquor and hit the park2. I have had great customer service Everytime I've been here. Maybe the problem isn't that the cashier is racist, maybe it's just that you suck at communicating ? But hey who knows everyone's different 3. The location of this liquor store is convenient because it's right before the pier and near a bunch of restaurants and bars. So if you need to pick up some Advil or Pepcid AC before your night of partying, this is the perfect spot !I've been coming to Roberts liquor store for years and I've always been so welcomed by the staff. They remember my usual purchases and always offer up good restaurant suggestions for my weekends there . Thank you Roberts Liquor !

Don't sleep on this liquor store. They got everything you need and want. You don't even need to be an alcoholic! Service is good. Price? Definitely pocket friendly especially during this time of covid-19, everybody wanna drink. Stop here to support your local liquor store!

If you can't afford bar hopping along this street you can always buy your favorite beverage and brown bag it. The store is very convenient and is perfectly located within a touristy part of this beach city. I stopped by to purchase some Lottery tickets.

Not a really great spot at all to stop by for anything. The guy overprices on every single thing. A small bag of ice cost me over $4! A 7lbs bag that usually cost me $1.50 any other store. Now it was the nearest store that had ice so the next day I got ice from another place and like I mentioned, the 7lbs bag of ice they had there was under $1.50. I was skeptical about overpricing from other reviewers but take their advice. The Asian guy there was very rude and also didn't scan anything like the other items my friends bought which were also overpriced.

Avoid this place at all costs. The racism runs rampant. My boyfriend just asked for CHANGE. QUARTERS for his dollar. Yet the Asian woman cashier refused to give him CHANGE. Even though he was making a purchase, she told him to get change, it "depends on what you buy." We spent $40+ dollars and come back to the cashier. My boyfriend asked, "Can I have my change now?" The lady said "don't give me that dirty look." And my bf said, "that's not a dirty look" and just walked out. She ended up giving me the change as she refused to help him or give him change. I'm sorry but who refuses to give money for MONEY. NOTHING off your back. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

If I could leave NO stars I would. I don't even do yelp reviews but this racist asian lady at the front deserves this one. I went inside to get change for $5 in change so I could give some to the homeless person by the place. After I waited in line she literally said she wouldnt give me change . I asked why and she ignored me. I asked again and she said maybe if you buy something. And I asked what. She said I don't know it depends on how much you buy here. I said everyone in here I came in with is buying something and she said I dont't care. So my girlfriend who is half chinese half white asked for change when she was buying something and she gladly gave it to her. I was like thanks for helping me out. She said "Don't give me that dirty look!" And i asked "what am i doing? What look?" She literally made a face at me and then i finally clapped back and said I cant tell with that face of yours and walked out. All I am saying is this lady is ridiculous and i can tell by the other reviews I am not the only one that sees this.

Rude cashiers, overpriced/highly marked up prices and they sold me an expired Starbucks double shot drink. (Purchased on 26th of May)

Ah, good old Robert's Liquor. This liquor store has been here for a long time. I remember coming here in the early 2000s, usually before hitting up one of the bars on the same pier. This store has a sizable selection of liquor, as well as your standard convenience store fare. I would normally buy a small snack (i.e. energy bar) to hold me over throughout the night. This store would normally be closed by the time the bars close up for the night. This store sees a lot of locals, and most people and workers here are chill. No funny business is tolerated, as HBPD keeps a close watch over the pier area. This is a convenient stop in the pier area, if you want to pregame it or get some snacks, come shop here.

Rum Drinkers, don't bother. There's nothing worth noting here. Wine swillers and vodka sippers will take heart knowing that all their bases are covered. They do have Dill Pickle flavored Kettle Chips, so the trip here wasn't a complete bust. Besides, it's conveniently located next to all the bars by the HB pier.
