This is a great small town museum. Hermosa Beach has really changed over the years.
The Hermosa Beach Historical Society was founded in 1987 with the mission to acquire, preserve, and interpret historical memorabilia and other materials pertaining to the history of the City of Hermosa Beach. The collection is extended to the public as a source of delight, illumination, and lifelong learning. The Hermosa Beach Historical Society hosts and facilitates many lively events with and for our South Bay community, including the annual Surfer's Walk of Fame and Volleyball Hall of Fame celebrations. The Museum also provides monthly educational programming with local figures and academics, as well as field trip opportunities for local students.
