My wife has been going to the Alzheimer's Family Center 5 days a week for about a year now. I am so grateful for the excellent service and safety AFC provides. I am kept informed of any upcoming changes of the food menu and of events. Feel wonderful that I can leave her there for about 5 hours while I go and catch up on chores to do. Would highly recommend for anyone who is getting overwhelmed as a caretaker and / or needs help placing a loved one in a safe environment.

Best adult day care for memory-challenged with caring staff allowing me to work with peace of mind knowing Mom's in good hands. Pandemic has been tougher since Mom goes to work with me. AFC has been closed to in-person services & offering online services. Thankfully, they're reopening safely & slowly in June.

I don’t even know where to start with our wonderful experience at AFC. The care, professionalism shown by every single staff member goes above and beyond the call of duty. My brother has been going there for almost two years and is now so sad to not be able to go due to covid CDC guidelines.Praying they will open back soon.Even as they are closed, they take the time to check on their patients to make sure they are doing well. The zoom classes have been a godsend to our family.Thank you so much for all you do.

BAD BUSINESS BORDERING ON FRAUDULENT BEHAVIOR AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF ELDERLY ALZHEIMERS VETERAN! This review is specific to the services and billing practices during the Covid 19 Pandemic in 2020. My husband had attended the Alzheimer's Family Center (AFC) five days a week. Because my husband had a service-connected disability, the Veterans Administration subsidized his attendance. When the AFC had to shut down in mid-March due to the Pandemic, my husband and all of the other participants obviously no longer received the various services, therapies, socialization, nurse check-ins, bathroom cu'ing, exercise, discussions, meals, etc. As the days turned into months, I had to take the initiative to reach out to AFC as I never heard anything from them. The AFC could not provide answers or any services, such as meal programs, blood pressure checks, etc., etc. After I got ahold of my assigned social worker at the AFC, she suggested I secure in-home care for the safety and health of my husband. I did just this. In July (four months after the shutdown), I received the billing statement from the VA and was astounded to see that the AFC continued billing the Veterans Administration as if my husband was still a full-time participant. I immediately contacted my assigned social worker at the AFC and asked why they were still billing the Veterans Administration as if their doors had not closed and their services stopped completely. When she hesitated, I asked her superior to phone me. The program manager left a me a very righteous, non apologetic message from a "BLOCKED NUMBER," so when I tried to phone her back, it continually hung up. After several written and verbal communications with the social worker, it was confirmed they were continuing to bill the VA solely for her once-a-week email check in. Note: NO OTHER SERVICES other than a weekly "how are you doing" email. I NEVER CONSENTED TO CONTINUOUS BILLING FOR NO SERVICES RENDERED. I even asked her if we were being charged for their new, pandemic-caused computer Zoom classes, Center Without Walls, (to which Jim's Alzheimer's was not even conducive) I was told no, that was not a billable service. So, she confirmed in writing the AFC was billing for full time service in exchange for one weekly email check in. NOTE: The burden was now on me, and the other participants, to be the full-time caregiver!!! Yet, the AFC was invoicing as if nothing changed. The AFC told me if I didn't want to be billed that I would just tell them to take us off of the check-in list. I did just this and I also immediately contacted the Veterans Administration to cease my husband's participation. Interestingly, the VA said they had received another complaint (I don't know from whom or for what). Needless to say, I was furious and flabbergasted. If Jim was being charged, then all of the other participants did not consent and were likely being billed and may not have realized it (cognitive impairment) due to lack of communication, or no notice of continued billing for no service. Or perhaps they were billing their insurance companies for services not rendered. In my personal opinion, this borders on "insurance fraud." I recall the local gyms having to close and their clients contacted the news media to complain they were still being billed. This is not good business. While I understand business needs to make money, it certainly should come with proportionate services being rendered - not on the backs of the cognitively impaired elderly, and not on the backs of Veterans, taking away funds from others, especially when those funds are needed for in-home care. I write this review six months after this last experience, one day after the social worker decided to reach out to ask how we are doing. I find it very disrespectful after six months of silence that I would receive an email check in. To me, it seems they are fishing for more money and do not care at all about the Alzheimer's patients. If they did, they would have known my husband passed awa
