Estimate too high , more then the value of the item being fixed . If you don't fix you lost 95 dollars of the deposit .

I brought in a pristine vintage Sony receiver that was having issues with the power switch not engaging. A simple relay replacement was needed which I had already diagnosed. The owner was quite smug saying that he would be the judge of what is needed. I then had to ask him several times please not put his clipboard on top of my receiver as the clipboards metal rivets would scratch the unblemished cabinet of the receiver and the brushed metal trim bezel. I almost took the receiver back to go elsewhere. In the end he charged me over $300 to replace an inexpensive relay. I won’t be going back.

Don't waste your time or money. I brought an old amplifier here for repair and he did absolutely nothing but somehow charged me over $100 for the privilege of doing so (or not doing so). He charges a deposit and then (in my case) basically just lied about what he (didn't) do and what I need to do to make this amp work correctly (press the tape machine function). meanwhile, the speaker connections inside are still loose and I cannot listen to music directly from the speakers... what I actually went to him to get fixed. Probably the angriest I've felt after spending unnecessary $ in quite a long time.

It wouldn't allow me to leave zero stars. This happened the other day. There were some items displayed on the sidewalk and my boyfriend walked into the store to look at more antiques. The owner told him to "please leave, go now". Very rude. No explanation, nothing.

Stay away. Place is a dump. Con man who lies about his capabilities. I don't think that he gets much business, so he has to cheat people. Only wants cash, which is a red flag. Bottom line, he's incapable and dishonest. He may also say something offensive to you for good measure.

I dropped off my grandfather's 1959 Telefunken Opus 8 to Jerry's for some long overdue deep TLC. Jerry certainly isn't cheap, but what I got back after about a month of work looks and sounds pretty much like it just came off the showroom floor. He even took it upon himself to procure and install a brand new magic eye!If you care about your vintage gear and want serious work performed on it, that's what I got with him :)

If you come here for a repair, sadly you WILL get ripped off. Expect to pay hundreds of dollars for Jerry to do a diagnostic, solder something, and maybe clean some connections.

I would give this place 0 stars. He charges a huge fee to look at your item. He never fixed my item, but kept it for several months saying he was still trying to find out what was wrong. Don't go here. He will string you along and doesn't know what he is doing. He was rude and unfriendly when I went to get my item back.

Jerry the owner took my $95 non-refundable cash deposit to check out my Sony TC350 reel to reel tape deck and asked me to be patient. I told him that when I last benched it , it wouldn't rewind or fast forward and it played at a varying speed. After a month I called him and he seemed vague on what was wrong with it., but then acted like he remembered & quoted $400 to $500 tops to fix it. I told him I wanted it fixed in a week. He wouldn't commit. So I said then I'll take it back and pay nothing in a week if it isn't fixed. He said he'd try to get it working. Well I got tied up and he called me in 8 days and talked about improvement, but thought it was still off speed and the felt clutch was the problem. He said it's on his bench and he'll keep working on it. He asked me to bring in a music tape right then. It was 11 AM and I had gotten up at 2AM and needed a nap and asked if I could take it to him one at 2PM. He said no, he'd have to move my machine off the bench and start something else and that I'd have to pay the full price of repair to get it back, whether it was working or not. I got angry and we exchanged words. I couldn't sleep and felt really ripped off. So I got my wife and went in to retrieve my un- fixed unit. He was with another customer but said I couldn't have it. I walked back into his work space, removed the audio jacks, unplugged my unit and grabbed it and the case and front panel of it and started to walk out. Just then he rushed in and blocked my path. I told him that I gave him almost 2 months and it's still not fixed and I was taking it home. I tried to work my way around him. But he pushed back and I ended up on the floor with a gouge under my right arm. The other customer and my wife filmed me hitting the floor. I got out of there. Both of my hands and arms were holding the pieces of the tape deck when he pushed me to the ground.
