Typical small town post office in a growing town. Some days there is a massive line to get packages and others you can just walk right up. I have Amazon stuff sent to the Sunshine shipping place in town. Good workers. Grumpy baby boomers.

Lies are being told! I will not have my hard work questioned. My name is Peter, and I work here at the idyllwild post office. 1st of, I spend hours looking up and helping guests to find out what's going on with your packages. If packages are being returned, they are arriving at my facility addressed incorrectly. But before I return them, I spend the time to identify who they belong to. I use the package street address to look them up on my systems to identify any potential poBox number. This is why it's very important to update your address every year during your renewal for your pobox. I do hold insufficient packages for UP to 2 days, this give a chance for guests to come and pick them up. If you have any questions or concerns, I'm available, and my door is always open.

The basic functions of the Postal Service were established in 39 U.S.C. § 101(a): “. . . to bind the Nation together through the personal, educational, literary, and business correspondence of the people. It [the Postal Service] shall provide prompt, reliable, and efficient services to patrons in all areas and shall render postal services to all communities.” The Postal Service delivers to more than 150 million addresses six days a week, and picks up pre-paid letters and packages at the time of delivery.....unless you live in idyllwild.

The snippy lady with dark hair and glasses. The moment you walk in, she begins to argue with you as an excuse why she’s not going to find your package. As well they send back a package immediately. I have a house in Idyllwild if I were you, I would use sunshine PO Box service. PS, most of the time like half of the time you’re not gonna be able to get your package

The woman with the black hair and glasses. Your friendly face to greet you. More like a horror movie. You come in with a tracking number. She immediately asks you. Do you have a P.O. Box? With a sinister grin. Even if you do she seems gleeful that your mail was returned to sender the same day. If a town doesn't have mail delivery the post office will normally hold your pkg for a few days. Not this one. She is caustic. Sadistic. I heard the other male worker in the back talking to her while she was retrieving the mail that hadn't been returned to sender. "Is he giving you a hard time about mail". I said. I can hear you. It's sad that we have such a beautiful town. And these creeps are allowed to take up breathing space in the fresh mountain air. Get a P.O. Box at Miss Sunshine's. The only competition in town.

Terrible. Our mailbox was cleared out, there were no notifications, and none of our "returned mail" made it back to any of the places that it was supposedly returned to.This is while we were down with COVID and they did not answer their phone.No apologies, no attempts to call, no notices of taking our mail or closing our box.The red-head lady came out and was smiling through the entire conversation, saying she put the renewal form in there, when I've never seen her smile once.The renewal form is only that. A renewal form. It says nothing about your mailbox being closed or date of closure, or notification of mail that had been held. She told us that she, "just returned the mail yesterday."Luckily, all of are bills our paid online and our income is through direct deposit.Luckily, I recorded the entire conversation and am turning it all over the Inspector General's office.

Another package "returned" when the tracking info says it was delivered. The postal workers at this PO openly admit that they refuse to deliver or hold for pickup any packages addressed to their only competitor in town - Sunshine Shipping. Really ethical to steal people's mail under the guise of "sending it back." That's now about $300 in orders I've placed they outright stole but claim they've sent it back. They refuse to even call back when you open a case about it. Why is USPS letting this continue? Don't bother wasting time or money here. Use Sunshine Shipping. Way better customer service and they'll go out of their way to help their customers. I never have any issues getting deliveries through them.

I have lived in idyllwild for 6 years , this has to be the worst post office I've ever had to deal with. I have had packages lost. I have gotten notified my package was delivered, I show up with tracking number and was told it was never delivered , and that they cant find my tracking number in the system. My worst experience yet, was showing up to check my mail and being locked out , because a paper wasnt filled out claiming I still live in the same house.. mind you I have turned these in before , and have never moved , been the same thing everytime I turn the paper in. Now I never received a paper I had to turn in this time around. and instead of another one being put into my mail box or a notification of any kind , I was locked out of my p.o box.. and am told I have to pay 35 dollars for another key to reopen the p.o box again !! I honestly have no clue if it is a lack of employees but I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake, let alone be treated as though it was my fault that I never recieved the paper they want me to fill out and return to them. If this was a post office off the hill , it wouldnt matter because mail gets derived to your home.. but since we are in the mountains and have no choice but to have a p.o box , I feel they take advantage of us, because they know we have to have a p.o box as a resident of idyllwild ..
