After having been a long time, customer of the O’Reilly store in Indio, I won’t be going back. I recently purchased a battery charger, which I did not end up needing. When I returned it unopened just 8 days later, I was met with a lot of pushback and a bad attitude by Abram the counter clerk. He said that I needed to return it within a couple of days. He said “we don’t rent these so you need to return them right away”. When I challenged him on the return policy, he backed down, but said he’ll do it for me one time. Well there won’t be a next time. I’ll be going to AutoZone from now on.

I have to used O'Reilly auto parts in Indio almost exclusively for my parts needs. After my experience yesterday I doubt I will be back. I had bought a battery charger there on the 8th of the month and as it turned out I did not need it. I never even opened the box. When I returned it yesterday, the 17th. The clerk (name was Abram) he acted as though he was doing me a huge favor by taking the return. The first thing he told me that I have to return something like this within a day or two as we aren't here just so you can rent things. I told him that I did not rent it. I bought it and there's nothing in his policy that says it has to be returned within right away. He got snotty with me, but backed down when he saw I wasn't about to. He has a terrible attitude and poor customer service. AutoZone here I come.

shout out to the dude that was able to fix my headlight. literally don’t know anything about cars but he was able to help me resolve the issue in like 5 minutes. and only like $20 bucks for the part too!! thank u again dawg ?

I was in this location yesterday 6/20 to see if someone could check my engine light. Man behind counter looked as if this service is a big pain in the rear for them. First question was where's your car? Not, "sure thing, I'll be right with you" My response was "right in front" then joked that it wasn't sitting in my driveway at home. No response as he was still looking all over for the equipment, he finally located it, I said drives me nuts when things aren't in the right place, he then proceeded to front door, with out communicating. Went to my car, used handheld to get codes, as we approached car I said I know the catalytic converter code will show but I had had an issue in Warner Hot Springs yesterday and mechanic there got three codes, he said nope, "only catalytic code" he said, you can go to one of our competitors to see what they come up with. He said Advantage is up this way (pointed west ) and said do you know we're the Pepboys is? Yes I said. grabbed his equipment and headed back to store, I said thanks, no response, I again said thank you as he was opening front door, no response. Pretty sure this may be what discrimination might feel like, I'm white, he wasn't. Entire experience with this man was uncomfortable, as I stated before, seems this service is a pain, and I was taking him away fro something else. Went to Auto Zone down the street, very helpful, even gave me a printout of the codes this store's equipment failed I to read. Will not be coming back here.

I called in to make sure that they had a discharge line for my 2006 Honda Civic, before evacuating the refrigerant. I then went to pick up the part, and they said that they didn’t have it. Now I have a car without any refrigerant in it, and no part. The people at the counter just don’t care, not going to do business here anymore I’ll go to autozone.

Nice location that's easy to get to. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Had to return a fuel pump that was under warranty and they made it extremely easy to do that.
