I've now used the Pep Boys on 111 near Mathis Bros. in Indio on several occasions. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. I've had numerous nail holes in tires repaired here for less than $25 and they do the most thorough "plug" repair of ANY tire place I have used over the years.
They are also extremely reasonable if you order tires online and wish to have them mounted and balanced.
On another occasion I had just completed some suspension work on my daughters car and took it to them to have it aligned. Instead of just wasting my money and doing the alignment they informed me that the passenger side wheel bearings were shot and needed to be replaced otherwise the alignment would be useless. Replaced the bearings myself and indeed their tech was correct, the bearing set was worn and damaged to the point of needing to be replaced as they accurately diagnosed.

showed up they said they couldn't do it. We said we wished they had told us so we could go somewhere else and the rude guy said
"eh it's Sunday, you couldn't go anywhere else anyway." Why act like that? Just call to let us know so we don't drive all the way way there. Terrible service. Would never try to come back

I feel like I was discriminated and taken advantage of. I have very basic knowledge when it comes to cars. I scheduled an appointment for 11am. I arrived maybe 20 minutes prior and was told it should taken 1hr-1 1/2 max. I gave them my information to contact me if need be. I left the store to come back 1hr and 15 minutes later only to be told they didn't finish the job. They need and additional 30mins time as well as an additional $80+ to finish the job. Because they weren't sure if my passenger door was able to be opened. So I paid $50+ for a service that was never finished.

Customer service was on point. Everything was explained. The manager even showed me the ectra parts that had damage that they found, so I was able to visibly see what needed repairs. I was appreciative of their honesty and integrity.

I went to Pep Boys in Indio for a new car battery. I made an appointment online the previous evening and showed up the next morning. Service was fast and the staff very friendly.

I had a minor repair and didn't want to drop it and rent a car. Julian said he could get me in right away and be finished in 45 mins. Less than 30 minutes later he's back with my keys. Finished! And it cost much less than I expected. Thanks Julian, I'll definitely be back!

If there was a negative star, I'd give it. Horrible service, inept mechanics, indifferent front desk, specifically Benjamin. I spoke to Denise who answered the phone before I brought my car in asking if Pep Boys could install and program Lexus tire sensors. Oh yes, I was assured. But oh NO, they couldn't and I wasted 2 trips to their shop for a total of 7 hours between the 2 visits. On the 2nd visit, the sensors still were not working after waiting 4.5 hours and paying over $400 dollars in parts and labor and guess what? Pep Boys Benjamin and his boss didn't give a F**K!! Benjamin said there must be an underlying condition, there's nothing they could do, and they won't refund my money. I drove off the lot mad as hell because you'd think when you take your car to a mechanic and they can't fix it, they wouldn't charge you right? These imbeciles didn't think to put in Lexus sensors so generic sensors were never going to work!! It was their fault all along. I wouldn't bring my skateboard to these idiots after burning through time and money. Plus their shop, especially their bathrooms are filthy. Overall, a horrible experience.
