I recently stayed at Royal Plaza and unfortunately, the experience fell short due to its outdated furnishings and overall lack of modernization. The lobby, while spacious, felt like a time capsule from the 1980s, with faded wallpaper, worn-out carpets, and heavy wooden furniture that’s seen better days. The armchairs had visible stains, and the lighting was dim, giving the space a tired, unwelcoming vibe.
My room wasn’t much better. The bed creaked loudly, and the mattress was lumpy, making for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. The furniture—a bulky dresser, a scratched-up desk, and a wobbly chair—looked like it hadn’t been updated in a while. The upholstery was frayed, and the room had a faint musty smell that no amount of air freshener could mask. The bathroom fixtures were outdated, with a sluggish shower and chipped tiles that detracted from any sense of cleanliness.
While the staff were polite and tried their best, the outdated amenities overshadowed their efforts. The Wi-Fi was spotty, and the TV was an old model with limited channels. For the price, I expected at least some modern comforts, but the hotel seems stuck in the past. It could be charming with a serious renovation, but as it stands, I’d recommend looking elsewhere for a more comfortable stay.

Great Stay : Convenient Location Near Palm Springs & Coachella
This was our first time in Indio love the rooms are outstanding so clean and smells great. The whole staff is excellent ty will be back. The room was well equipped with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable with nice linens, and the shower was excellent. The location is convenient just a short drive to Palm Springs and Coachella. Overall, a pleasant and comfortable stay. We’d definitely stay here again!

I recently stayed at the Royal Plaza with my friends, and it was the perfect experience! The location is unbeatable—everything you need is right around the corner, from Food 4 Less to Costco and more. The convenience made our stay super smooth. The pool was a highlight—clean, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing. Overall, everything was just right. Highly recommend for anyone looking for comfort and convenience in one place!

I never book less than a 3 star hotel, I expect a 3 star hotel to above average/descent when using a rating from 1-5. I have no idea of who may be rating Royal Plaza Inn over 2 stars. Unless I was given the worse room in the place, it isn't a true rating. This Inn cost $300.00 per night on Expedia!! The staff person checking me in was rude and debasing. She told me they take my credit card to insure I don't smoke in the room (I specifically booked a non-smoking room), steal something, cause damage, etc. Everyone knows that a card is required for security reasons. She didn't need to spell that out in a debasing manner. No elevator to the 2nd floor. We had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs. The towels were rough and dingy and one set per person, no extras. The shower curtain was dingy with red stains on it. Thank goodness I pack soap. A used piece of soap was in the shower and one small disc was left on the sink. The shower fixtures were damaged and didn't work properly. There was no iron or laundry bag, if I needed one. The furniture, desk and bedside table had no hand pulls, and the finish was peeling. The curtains in the room was coming off of the rod. The refrigerator had no way of knowing it was running, and as I looked to see if it was plugged in, the area behind the cabinet was so dusty, you wouldn't want to put your hands behind it. No bathroom outside the rooms for patrons (I got there a little early and needed to use the bathroom before I could check in I had to go to a different public place). The walls showed the need for paint repair in certain areas. The TV remote was sticky. Every thing was very dated as if it was furnished from a second hand store. I reported this to the clerk at check out because I didn't want to be charged for something I didn't do based on what the clerk told me at check in. I could go on. I've given away furniture 100x better than this place had. When I entered the room, I thought, "They should pay me to stay here." In addition, to think she thought there was something worth stealing, is laughable. For the money, it was completely over priced. I won't go back there. My son and I were in the city for the Tennis Tournament.

I've been in a jury trial down the street in Indio Court and have stayed here over 3 weeks. It's central to lots of restaurants and shopping and fairly clean, roomy and inexpensive.

this hotel is trash. there's things falling apart. there were 4 of 5 lightbulbs in my bathroom that were burnt out. i know it's 100 degrees outside but the AC barely worked. The shower head was super short, basically at my cheek level (i'm only 5'10) so i had to duck under it to wash my hair. i booked this place cheap through an app but if you've gotta pay more than $50/night then your money is MUCH better spent elsewhere.

Be careful when they charge for the deposit as they won't give you that back unless you call so many times. They mostly plan to keep that unless customer reach out to them multiple times and you don't get clear answers ever. I really think that OYO should not partner with them given how horribly they treat their customer when they are trying to get back their deposit.
