Extremely slow service. Only one employee in front desk handling everything. About 40min each person equipment doesn't work every time I go there to rent stuff.

I am truly amazed, so far, with this business. I am in the process of moving and am scheduled to get my truck in several days. I have made multiple trips to U-Haul of Indio to purchase packing supplies and have been treated well every time. They have even helped me carry packs of boxes to my vehicle. The store is well stocked with everything you need to pack. They have all the different boxes available. I highly recommend this business.

This had to have been the best U-Haul experience I've ever had - and I've had quite a few both here in the desert and in L.A. The woman at the desk was really nice and the process of renting was very smooth and took no time at all. We were also given a sizable discount b/c the truck did not have much gas left. About a half hour after renting the truck, we realized we didn't need it as we decided against moving what we were going to move. U-Haul was nice enough to waive the fees for the rental in their entirety (I had called right after to tell them we were returning it). Sure enough, a few days later, I got a refund emailed to me. Like I said, a very pleasant, easy experience all the way around. Highly recommend this location!

Came here to rent a dolly to move my appliances just before closing time. Attempted to call and see if it was ok got a reservation setup but was advised that I missed the pickup window for the day. Went down to the location about 15 before closing and the young lady working the front desk got me all taken care of no questions asked. It was great customer service. Drop off was smooth. Definitely would use this location again if I need a truck or dolly

RENTERS BEWARE!! Rented a trailer with insurance included. Was penalized due to hitting black ice causing the trailer to be unreturnable to the local center. They will charge you a penalty fee for not being able to return it. Do not use U-Haul this was from corporate. Use another company.

I love how one review uses the word chill to describe the people that work here. They are so CHILL infact they don't return phone calls, read notes entered into their system. Word of caution don't ever expect to contact these people and get as much as a return phone call!

The general manager at this location talks to the customers like you're wasting his time and have no idea what you're talking about. Customer service is completely unacceptable. We also called this location over the phone before we arrived and we were on hold for about 20min. Once we arrived, the place was empty... shocker!

When I stepped into the office, I waited for 15 minutes. Finally, I went out and asked a man standing outside with a gas cylinder, "Is any one at the counter?" He said, "I don't work here." I answered, "Somebody has to work here. Finally, a man told another man to go to the counter." When I got there, the man asked me the kind of the truck I wanted, I said, "I want the pick-up truck." He said, "For that truck you will need two forms of identification and I will need to call three references. Do you have time for that?" I knew that I was being singled out and that the service associate was being prejudiced, but I needed the truck. I said, "Fine." Then, he said, "I will also need you to remove your mask and and glasses so that I can take a picture of you." I said, "Fine." I proceeded to do what he asked me to do, and then he said, "Sir, not right now, sir, not now." I had already taken off the mask so I said, "Ok, I will just keep it off so I can be ready." He said, "No. You need to put it back on." At that point I knew he was jerking me around, since I have never been asked to provide so much information for a simple car rental. I said, "Fine, you don't want my business I will leave." He said, "That's ok with me. We don't need your business." Stay away, this place is not a tolerant place. Its workers are prejudiced and inattentive.

Never again I made a reservation and then they transferred my reservation because the one they had did not have gas and the the person told me I i can take my chances of running out off gas and if I wanted to go get the other UHAUL I will have to pay for the extra mileage

I have never seen such mismanagement and disorganization. DO NOT GO THERE. They do not follow corporate policies, and Paul Lomeli (manager) has no idea what he or his staff are doing. Very rude! I made a reservation for 7:30 am for a hitch system installation and a 5x8 U-Haul trailer. I did not receive any confirmation from the Indio, so I called the location myself. They told me my reservation had been moved to 8:30. I arrived and checked in and waited. They told me that no one would be able to work on my hitch for another half hour and I could leave for breakfast and come back if I wanted. I asked how that was possible if I had a reservation. They seemed confused and said they had no idea when Paul would arrive. I said I would wait in the car. I called U-Haul corporate and was transferred three times while trying to get some answers. The third person called the location and said Paul was there and they were waiting for me. I went in and they were all very rude and argumentative when I asked why I wasn't called in to proceed. They said I didn't leave the keys, even though they had asked me not to since he wasn't there yet. Paul told me to leave while he worked on the car and said it may not be ready until 7 pm this evening, which is totally unacceptable and not at all what I had confirmed over the phone. Had I known that would be the case, I would have made an earlier reservation at a different location. I finally heard back from corporate through Twitter. They offered to reimburse me for my Lyft rides. When I went to pick up my car, they refused to take my method of payment even though I had confirmed over the phone that they could. Then Paul asked for two phone numbers to confirm the reservation--all with attitude when I asked why. Then he questioned if I gave him a real number and name. SO DISRESPECTFUL. When I went out to get the trailer installed, he had left parts in the trunk and didn't tell his employees. They say he gets a lot of angry customers. I have his manager's number, and I've already left a message with her.

We had to replace the hitch on our car and we were going to be in town for about three more days. They did not have our hitch, so he was able to locate one in Washington. He ordered it for us to be delivered in Bakersfield. He also set up an appointment for us to go have it replaced. I consider that excellent customer service and beyond the call. They were very polite, and comedic at times. We certainly enjoyed the visit and will definitely use them if we need to in the future.
