This small humble store sells great tasting injera, a staple (ethiopian style pancake made from teff, which is used to scoop up food) for eating Ethiopian dishes. There are other places that sell injera, but the dfferent types of injera available at this store is the one my family prefers. Not only is it tasty, but it seems to stay fresher longer. It may be a bit more expensive than other places, but it's worth the extra cost. It's also a good place to buy other items related to things Ethiopian, especially spices. One thing you should know is customers are served behind the door that is half open on the top. The sweet and kind elderly woman who works there is so helpful and polite. She fetches what you want from inside the store for you.

If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. My mother asked me to go pick up injera on my way to her house. She's particular with the type of injera she likes, and I ended up getting the wrong one. I returned to the store to exchange it for the one my mom requested. I don't speak Amharic and am unfamiliar with the multiple types of injera, so I was a bit confused and wanted to connect my mom to the store owner. The store owner was very disrespectful, saying " I don't want to hear it" as soon as I asked if she would mind speaking to my mom and threw the money back at me. It's not like she was busy, there was literally one customer in the store who also looked shocked. I'm still on the phone with my mom so out of respect for her, I avoided the confrontation and left. I have to have a horrible experience in order to leave a Yelp review because I could literally do anything else with that time, but after the rude treatment, I wanted to make sure I negatively impact her business as this is not a way to treat anyone. It doesn't matter what kind of day you're having, treat all of your customers with respect. There are so many other Ethiopian markets in the LA area you should be supporting before spending your money here.

We stopped by to pick up teff-only injera and found this lovely lady to help us. She's a great owner and we love the injera. We'll stop by before we return home to Arizona to pick up teff flour and more injera.

Great variety!! The lady was so helpful and giving me cooking tips. I'm not from LA and am still learning where to get Eritrean essentials; fortunately my cousin directed me to Mena Mini Market. I will be back for more!

I've been looking for a store close to me that carries Indian stick incense. Thank goodness I found this little store. I appreciate the kind and helpful cashier. I'll be coming back for more.

I've been here twice and both times the proprietor has been amazingly helpful. Mena has fresh injera made locally, and I also purchased spiced butter to make Doro Wat there. When I went back this week, they were out of the butter but the woman who was there told me how to make it, exactly which butter to use (Smart and Final's First Street Brand) and even made me a sachet of spices to use in order to make my own. What a pleasant interaction! I'm from Indiana and you don't often find such friendly, helpful and genuinely lovely people in Los Angeles. I love Mena Mini Market! Don't be confused by the hodgepodge of signs in the window and the interesting organization system inside. Just ask for help and you'd be surprised what all they've got in that little store! Highly recommended.

Part spice bazaar, part Aladdin's Cave, & and part Amharic community centre, Menna's Mini Market is the Off-Fairfax go-to spot for all kinds of Ethiopian goodies. The proprietress is a woman named Tigist who managed to answer all my questions,
