About Pierce Point Ranch
Pierce Point Ranch is a historic dairy farm dating to the mid-1800s, offering an educational and interesting history lesson in a gorgeous, staggering setting. The historic buildings are open for exploration. A great place to visit for both hike and history, a hiking trail begins next to the farm. The trail to Tomales Point is long but not difficult, taking you along the coast with amazingly beautiful scenery. It is a great workout, with some steep parts but a very flat and wide start, and is family-friendly. You will almost certainly see the famous Tule elk. The parking lot can fill up. The drive in can be extremely foggy. The only downside is the lack of easy bathrooms at the trailhead, with bathrooms a short drive or walk away that could use some attention. Visitors should also be aware there are ticks.
Was an exciting experince visiting this place . Hard to imagine it's so close to bay area but a completely diff world out from the chaotic bay area life.

Nice walkabout the ranch and decent picnic spot, bring your own chairs or blanket. Interesting history and parking for the point trailhead. Gets crowded and parking goes quickly.
