Lovely staff. Room 8 is great for 2 people with separate rooms. Lovely views. There is a little beach to the left of the property that you can walk to depending on the tide.

Family owned and run, gorgeous views, clean, lovely little rooms!
We would definitely return as we were only able to stay for one night. This place is a charm on the edge of Tomales Bay - so beautiful and serene with clean and comfortable, modernized rooms. The space was smaller but felt big with vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows - photos of view from the room, not zoomed or retouched! A comfortable king bed with a small corner fireplace was just the ticket to a very cozy evening. We'll definitely return for the kayaking on offer (even night-time bioluminescent tours!) and sailing, or just enjoying the little shops in nearby Point Reyes Station and Inverness.
Walkability: Walkable to the beach, need a car for town as it is on the one busy road through the area.

Beautiful property but unreliable service. The property is surrounded by a stunning marina. Our room had great views of the water.
Unfortunately, it was very difficult to communicate with management as the concierge is only open from 9-5. The on call personnel had little knowledge of the booking system and no access to many of the offices. Our group had booked a room that “sleeps 3”. Prior to arriving we called to make sure there would be a roll away bed, cot or pull out couch. The concierge confirmed that all would be in place. When we got to the room there was no additional sleeping arrangement, linens or any soap for that matter. We called the “on call number” and were given toiletries, linen, and a camping mat to put on the floor. The mat was only a few inches thick and should not be considered a 3rd bed. The next day we were moved to another room with out any apologies from staff. No one seemed very concerned. Very disappointed in how this was handled.

Rooms are in need of updating. The carpets were weirdly loose and very stained. Wood surfaces (trim, etc) had a fair amount of water damage. The walls are also pretty thin. We could hear the conversations happening in the room adjacent to us pretty clearly.
Outdoor spaces are also showing serious signs of age (rust, water damaged wood, etc).
The woman working I the office was friendly and helpful, but the office hours were pretty limited.
The location is great in terms of accessing Point Reyes and Tomales Bay. Parking was reasonable, and there is a Tesla destination charger that worked well for us.

Rooms could do with a fan but otherwise they are delightful. I hope in future the on site restaurant will reopen. This is a regular visit for my family and I.

We had a wonderful time here. Ciaran, the manager, we super kind and accommodating, and showed me some room options. We ended up getting the Captain’s Quarters and it was worth every penny. It was a very spacious apartment with a million dollar view. Most the rooms here will have a view- you are RIGHT on the bay. We will be back for sure. Thank you for the great memories.

This is nice hotel right on the bay, not far from Point Reyes. The room was very clean and comfy. It’s obviously been updated. Love that they left us 2 fire logs and it was all set up (and clean!). This place also has Tesla chargers, which was a bonus for us. We stayed in a room over the water, but didn’t realize there were rooms above us when we booked online…and for some reason the people above us were up all night walking the floor. They woke my husband and I up a lot! This was more noticeable than most of the places we stayed along our 15-day road trip, so it’s probably worth mentioning. If we stay here again, we will look at getting a room with no one above us as there’s some of those (again, didn’t know that was an option before seeing the property in person). Also, we were driving down hwy 1 to get there and had no idea there were so many construction spots—it took us many extra hours to get there. I just happened to get in a spot with cell service and checked our one and only email from the hotel and noticed in fine print that they close at 5pm on Thursdays! I would never have thought that I had to be at a resort to check in by 5pm. I happened to reach someone on the third try right before 5pm and she was kind enough to leave our keys for us. We were planning on getting there at 3pm but didn’t get there until 7:30 because of the roadwork. We heard a little about landslides as we live in SoCal, but had no idea the roads were still messed up or that nothing is really open late. Just wondering what people not from CA do about getting to this hotel by 5pm. Maybe a follow up email close to check-in day would help clue people in about arriving early, etc. Wish we had more time at the hotel. Pool looked nice and I know there’s good hiking nearby. Restaurants are far and few between and ones open on weekdays closed around 8pm, so plan accordingly.

Love the location.
Quaint. Quiet. Lovely view.
Pool missing a jacuzzi, but loved the renovations.
Wish the restaurant was open.
Rooms: A little outdated.
Seemed clean.

Been coming for 55 yrs...my favorite Bay Area destination. Unbeatable if a little worn...who cares! The Bay, the Natl Reserve, the little town, the great restaurants, the gorgeousness and the value pricing. Will go until they carry me out feet first.

We stayed here for a short getaway with another couple for her birthday, in two separate rooms. Initially, I was very happy that it was possible to book just a Saturday night room rather than being required to stay both Friday and Saturday nights. Maybe that's possible only some weekends of the year, but it made the trip feasible for us.
Both rooms were comfortable and well-maintained. The resort has been at this location for quite some time, obviously. However, the ownership/management has kept up with maintenance, which puts this place head and shoulders above much vacation lodging on the coast north of SF. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and efficient both at checkin and checkout.
The location is 10 minutes away from Point Reyes Station, and a few minutes away from Inverness Park Market. It's sleepy and off by itself, but if you're coming to this location, you're not doing it for the nightlife and for hustle and bustle; you want to relax. You can do that here.

For a last minute stay, tomales bay resort had been a real enjoyment. Warm welcome and very well designed accommodation and resort. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to enjoy the whole location. Still dreaming to return.

Rooms: Clean, very well kept and well equipped rooms. Charging points can be a little difficult to find or in obscure places.
Nearby activities: Great location, right on the Bay. You can go kayaking or swimming right at the resort. Most Point Reyes Trailheads, Things to do or see are within 20mins drive.
