I have been with California Bank and trust for over thirty years. The Service has always been excellent ,100% professional and I've yet to see a single mistake.

Either the employees are lazy or just straight-up unqualified to preform basic business functions. FinTech companies will destroy these industries over the next decade. Like how can you not find a copy of a check I deposited 2 months ago?

This is an excellent branch. Years ago I worked as a Wells Fargo bank teller for a couple years, so I am familiar with the industry a bit. The tellers here are each experienced, friendly, and capable. I never see them asking each other for help like you will find in almost any other bank. And the branch manager Susan is also friendly, and working hard. Every time I have come into the branch, she has been there, and working! Not like many banks where you see the branch manager hiding in their office, on the phone, or otherwise pretending to work, while the tellers try to do everything. I was there today, near the end of the year, and the staff was busy, but still provided 100% attendance and service. Azumi helped me with my transactions and preparing cashier's checks. Furthermore, during COVID-19, they actually have an adequately staffed branch, which is more than most other banks. In fact, one of my other local branches with a different bank, had to close my nearest branch since April 2020 and it is still closed.

This bank was amazing. My company had an immediate need for financing with a short deadline in this COVID-19 environment, and the CBT staff at this branch went out of their way to meet our needs. They immediately put a team to work in helping us provide the necessary data and process our loan. As a result of this effort, we have left B of A, which in our experience devalues its smaller business clients in favor of those with much larger accounts. We very much appreciate the outstanding effort made by the loan processing team at CBT's Irvine branch!

I went into this location about a month ago to open a new checking account. Despite this location not being very convenient to get too (there is no drive through and you must park in a lot and then get a token from the teller when you leave), it's the closest one to my house so it WAS the location that I used most often. I went in on a Friday afternoon approximately 1 hour before closing. When I walked in there were 2 tellers and 1 other customer. I approached the free teller and told her that I would like to open a checking account. She then exchanged annoyed looks with the 2nd teller and told me that they were "too short staffed and too busy to help me at the moment, but I could come back Monday morning and someone would be able to help me then." I then informed her that I work M-F from 7:30am to 5pm and that I wouldn't be able to come in until my next Friday off 2 weeks later. She then told me that she unfortunately still would not be able to help me, but I could, "open an account online via the website." Needing the account open sooner than 2 weeks later, I visited the website that night to open my account. The account was confirmed and it sent me an account number, but it never sent me a welcome email. I kept logging into my online banking account, waiting to see the checking account show up, but the account never showed. After a day or so, I tried calling the Irvine Branch, but they were unable to assist me over the phone and told me that I needed to call online banking for assistance. After calling online banking, they told me that the account had auto filled my name incorrectly and that was the reason it wasn't linking to my online banking. They told me that I needed to go into a physical location and have it fixed. Knowing I was no where close to the Irvine branch and since the Tustin branch was closer to my work, I went into their branch during my lunch break to have it sorted out. Thank goodness for the Tustin branch, because even though it ended up taking 3 days and 3 trips back to the branch to get everything fixed, they were able to figure it out and never once told me they were too busy to help. I also filed a complaint against the Irvine branch over the phone, since all this occurred due to them refusing to help me open a checking account in person, in which I was told that a branch manager would call me (they never did). Needless to say, Tustin is my new Branch...I won't be going back to Irvine and advise others not to use it either.
