I switched over from Wamu free checking to Citibank EZ checking (free if you have a min combined balance of $1500 across accounts) a few years ago and was excited to see a branch pop up in the Woodbury Town Center. This location is on the corner of Irvine Blvd and Sand Canyon, near the Chick-fil-A. The staff is super friendly and the branch is almost empty when I visit. The other nice thing is that you need your debit card to open the door for access to the ATMs after hours. This security feature puts a single girl at ease. Not that I can't fight and scratch with the best of them, I just prefer to avoid it if at all possible. One of the reasons for switching to Citibank was the fact that Citibank branches & ATMs are located throughout Europe and Asia. I even found a few in Australia. Hooray! It comes in handy when you're traveling, but short on local cash and need to make a withdrawal. I especially like the fact that in the US, I can withdraw from 7-Eleven ATMs without penalty too. 7-Elevens populate most urban cities these days so it's nice to know that if I can't find a branch, I can still have access to my cash without pesky ATM fees. Anything to save a few extra dollars. Thanks Citibank!
