I’ve been on the search for a group workout setting and have tried out numerous boot camp style places. I just didn’t find one that I fell in love with that focused more on strength training rather than cardio. I was hesitant to try out crossfit based on its reputation about getting injured pretty easily, but I figured to give it a shot. I took a look at Yelp reviews and submitted a form for CrossFit Recharge to have a 15 min. call with the owner, Luke.Luke was super kind and had this calming demeanor that felt very reassuring. It was a good start so I came in the next day.I loved that the workout was focused on quality, form and mechanics. I never felt rushed. Everyone was so supportive and nice.I immediately signed up for a monthly membership - so happy I did.

I’ve been going to CrossFit Recharge for more than a year, and I 100% recommend it! The coaches have really helped me improve my technique and achieve my personal goals of loosing weight and getting stronger. This gym also got really nice crossfit equipment, including a plunge and sauna. Prices are also very reasonable and great quality!

I can't say enough about how awesome this place is. No matter your fitness level the skilled coaches here push you to be your very best. Above that though is the community you feel a part of once you go. So many classmates always encouraging each other. I highly recommend this place . Plus they're extremely reasonable in pricing. Thanks Crossfit Insanity for an amazing year!

We dropped into this gym today and Dave was extremely friendly and welcoming. They had programmed a variation of Murph and the running was much needed since we've been overindulging. Dave was nice enough to let one of us do class and the other so open gym. There was a good vibe in class and everybody was really friendly. I would highly recommend giving this gym a try.

Best CrossFit gym in OC! M Foster made me feel welcome from day 1. Coaches Dave and Mara were awesome too. The whole crew there was so welcoming from day 1. Been here for 3 years now, and the coaching has definitely made me a better athlete. I definitely won’t ever go to another gym, and I’ve made so many good friends there. Come by, you won’t be disappointed!

This review has been a long time coming, especially being my first Yelp review. Crossfit Insanity, or CFI as the regulars call it, has a special place in my heart. This gym was my very first crossfit gym and real exposure to their workouts. Previously I had worked out at 24 hr Fitness, and once my 2 year membership ended I flirted with the idea of joining a crossfit gym despite knowing the stigma surrounding their type of workouts. I had already bought my own barbell and plates at the time, but knew I needed a coach to learn the olympic lifts properly. So I searched around Yelp and bought a month long Groupon for CFI mostly based on one standout glowing review. I was so glad I did. I remember my first week huffing and puffing my way through the workouts. That aspect kinda stayed constant throughout my tenure at CFI, but I learned to breathe and take mini breaks more efficiently as time progressed. More importantly, I got to know the regular folks there and was fortunate to build some pretty good friendships. I don't think I would have stayed as long as I did had it not been for the community. I only intended to stay for the first month, and then mark trying out crossfit off my bucket list. But one month turned into a second month, and by then I was hooked. Coach Dave and Mike were awesome and friendly from the get go. Being a pair of different personalities, each has his own style of coaching but both are effective. Mara, Dave's wife, will fill in coaching duties on some occasions and is effective as well. Trying out crossfit for the first time can be daunting for some, especially for people who have had little or no background in physical fitness. But CFI's coaches are excellent at reading a person's skill level and will suggest ways to scale and modify the workouts to that person's ability while still kicking his/her a*** Experiencing the euphoric high afterwards is common, but grinding through the workouts is a prerequisite. Although the coaches do advocate to scale/modify the weights and movements accordingly to one's ability, there are always individuals (mostly us guys) that can get in that macho mode and let their egos get the best of them. Avoid this mentality as much as possible if you want to stay healthy and injury free. I'm competitive to a healthy degree, but I remember being humbled during workouts by the opposite sex (an often occurrence) and other individuals who I deemed I was in a better shape than. I soon accepted that some folks just naturally have a better "engine" and/or have conditioned themselves for crossfit workouts for a longer time than I have. For those new to crossfit, I highly recommend joining Crossfit Insanity if you are thinking of a new way to stay in shape. For those already familiar, CFI has a good mixture of intermediate and beginner types of athletes. Either way, you'll enjoy this time of day as you'll eventually want to return the next day or later in the week to see a familar and friendly face to workout with. If you're lucky like me, you'll get to build some awesome friendships in the process.

I joined CrossFit Insanity in Sept 2019 after moving to the area. Immediately I felt the sense of community and enthusiasm that the coaches brought. One amenity that's unique to this box is they have showers! If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking this box out. During these weird times of covid19, the coaches are adapting really well by posting home workout videos online which is really cool!
