I was looking for a bank with decent customer service so tried 3 banks in this Culver Plaza. CTBC did not meet the basic standard of being courtesy, friendly nor willing to help. From teller to their manager in the back, all terrible in attitudes. Across the street East West Bank is the same.Only Chase Bank, who exceeded the basic standard and offers a high interest rate for savings and CD.

This is the very, top terrible bank from my experience. All of the employees are extremely bad. No any good experience while visited this bank site. Never ever come to this one for any banking services.

Nowadays bilingual banking services aren't hard to find in Irvine. However, the thing that makes this bank stand out is the service, knowledge and professionalism. The folks there are eager to help the moment I step in. People are polite and efficient. I would recommend this bank for anyone who likes to be treated as an intelligent human being.

After spending many years in China, my family decided to move back to the US. Naturally we need to bring some investments back with us. The people here at Chinatrust helped us greatly! The financial services this place provides allow us to manage our investments here and there efficiently and effectively. The staffs know their stuff well, not to mention their willingness to go beyond what was expected. Thank you Cindy and your crew for all your help. Highly recommend these folks at the Irvine branch!

After moving to WA years ago, I want to invest in real estates in Irvine where my family grew up. Who knew it was not easy to get a mortgage here. After having no success at BoA and Wells Fargo, a friend recommended me to try China Trust. I feel very fortunate to meet Cindy (who turns out to be the manager). Cindy was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. She really went out of her way to explain the options available and help me find the loan that eventually secured the property. I am very grateful to have met her. Despite some negative reviews I've read at this place, my experience that day was definitely very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this place for everyone (as seen by my 5-star).

very good service, always very quick, you don't have to wait for a long time, both English and Chinese, I really like to work with CTBC, and more importantly, the bankers are very nice

I've been doing business with Chinatrust/CTBC at this location since 12 years ago, and have been very pleased with their customer service. I never had any problem with conducting any transactions with them. They also have been very helpful with their multi-linguistic abilities (Mandarin, Cantonese, and Taiwanese) for older immigrant clients such as my parents and grandparents.

I've used this CTBC bank for quite some time now and every experience has been a positive one. The personnels are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I almost never have to wait long and transactions are usually done quickly and efficiently. Would highly recommend this bank, especially if you're looking for a bank with friendly and competent Chinese and English speaking staff.

Don't come here for business - at least for the mortgage loan part!! I purchased my first-ever and my dream house and entered into buyer-seller agreement on 8/25/18 I was referred here by my real estate agent because this is where she got her own mortgage loan for her own house about 4 years ago. Not only the experience turned out to be a customer service nightmare but the Loan officer Serene Yang has no integrity to even admit and apology for her multiple low-level mistakes: including typing my birthday and SSN wrong!! According to this Serene Yang and the Branch Manager, more than the majority of their customers are from mainland China and have limited knowledge in English. It was my own effort checking and finding the data entry (all English forms) errors. Imagine how many non-English speakers out there got their info filled wrong and know nothing about but only get delayed because of loan office's fault. Moreover, this Loan officer NEVER reply her office email. She's only responsive (and barely) on Wechat/Line and asking clients to send sensitive and information which should have been communicated in a much more formal way - e-mail. I had a 45 days contingency timeline with my seller at the time which is normal in new home purchasing loan application process. The problem was up until almost 20 days passed, I was still wasting time on correcting her typos and sending her messages, emails, leaving voice messages all over places because she asked for information over and over again (she asked the exact same question on Day 1 and Day 12 and I provided the answer and materials immediately on Day 1 and asked her for confirmation of receipt - no reply and then here we go - she asked me for the same stuff AGAIN on Day 12). Thankfully I just got lucky to my family have the support for me to close the deal with 100% all cash and I have to withdraw on Day 15 before wasting more time and effort on it. But if it's for regular home buyer which the deal depends on the prompt approval of mortgage loan, I would have lost the dream house. Even though I now manage to pull through on my own, the whole horrible three weeks experience still disturb my life and my financial plan completely not to mention my wasted time at work and at nights for three weeks to keep trying to only communicate promptly. I guess that's too much to ask for.

They charge $5 to cash a check if you do not have an account with them. That is really crappy customer service. I will not do business with them or anyone that uses this bank. I have never been to another bank that practices this.
