I love this branch. I’ve been using H&R Block for years. They’re so knowledgeable and so thorough. Definitely will give you peace of mind.

If you've sold stock or property in the past year, be aware:
My husband and I started filing our Taxes jointly with this H&R Block in 2023. Since we were merging our finances, we figured this would be a great time to consult with an actual accountant. Oh how naïve we were.
We brought all our documents, including from our brokerage and were matched with an accountant. This person, who I have been informed no longer works there, forgot to account for capital gains tax. In fact she didn't include our sales gains at all in our return.
We received the first letter from the IRS in 2024 with the amount we owed and went back to them. Mr. Yogesh Jatwani is assigned as our accountant for this trip and he is our saving grace in this story and the reason this review is a 2 out of 5 rather than a 1. He helped us refile our taxes and contest the amount owed. We sent in our contested statement. Filed an amended 2022. And paid our new taxes (with interest because the IRS doesn't play around.) And figured that would be it.
Oh how naïve we were.
The rest of this could be best declared as a warning:
Don't. Ever. Get involved in a dispute with the IRS.
0/10. Would not recommend.
Folks, I hate to say it, but as of this past week, we are still receiving letters about this case from the IRS. It's agony.
Every time we receive a letter in the mail with that brutalist Eagle logo on the envelope it plunges me into a pit of despair. But most of all, it makes me rue the day I ever set foot in the Block Advisers located off of Dupont Dr. If they had caught their mistake before we walked out of their doors nearly two years ago, we would have never been in this mess.

Block is the largest tax preparer in the U. S according to the IRS. And the IRS could learn a thing or two from H&R Block. And they do listen to them. So I use Block and I am happy with them.

This H&R Block location is very great at ignoring and not following up with customers. It's no surprise that almost all H&R Block locations around this area have low ratings. It's better to go see a professional CPA with a private business who has the specialized knowledge and courtesy to follow up with customers.

I was really wondering what to do with my tax return. I Started by myself and could not do that so a friend introduced Block advisors who could easily do that and I appreciate their hard work.

I have so many complaints at this point that I would suggest that you look elsewhere as my experience with H&R Block Advisors was really bad.

I will preface this saying I work in finance and sales and have had HR Block for many years now. I used to have an excellent HR Block advisor in Santa Ana who was helpful and let me learn tips on how to reduce tax liability. I ended up moving so I chose to work at a Block Advisors location down the street. My advisor Swedlana Vardeh is the rudest advisor imaginable. For a “master advisor,” years of experience don’t equate to knowledge or friendliness. She told me incorrect information multiple times that I had to lookup myself or check with her colleagues and she could never take responsibilities for her own mistakes: “all signs were pointing to..”. What was super weird is she mentioned you didn’t having health insurance coverage for the entire year right? I told her I had coverage for the entire year and she said I didn’t need a form. I provided one anyway because I have never had been told that previously. Then when it came to education expenses (I am a non-traditional student), I asked about special government credits I know I am entitled to. She talked down to me as if I was a child. I told her I know from my previous advisor I have some of these credits and wondered why she didn’t ask for educational receipts. She then mentioned after days of already working together that I could provide them and she was getting very easily frustrated for a professional. She then said I complain too much while she continued to complain about her 200 clients she works with and the burden of having to pull up my file. I only deal with professionals so I disconnected on the line from her. Block Advisors should fire her and she should get training in respect and professionalism.

Hire honest professionals. 1.) I wanted advisement and to file for 2021, the advisor said he had other clients after me, he only had time to file 2021, I'd have to come back. 2.) He made paper copies of my documents because their scanner wasn't working. 3.) rather than say my bank routing and account #s out loud i typed them in my phone's notepad and showed him. He slowly read them aloud as he typed. 4.) The advisor called me at 10:15pm (5 hours later) to say he couldn't file my taxes because my identity had been stolen and the IRS put a PIN on my account (!) I was very alarmed. I spent 40 minutes creating IRS and ID.me accounts and the identity verification. The advisor called me at 10:50pm to tell me they were all going home and he'd just file tomorrow. I asked him to file an extension. He said no, they're going home, even if he could it would be $99 and he'd need the PIN. I WANT A REFUND - SERVICES NOT RENDERED

One star is too many for this torture house. They give you the wrong quotes while giving you misinformation and the wrong amounts to pay to the IRS. Long story short, the tax prep quote I got online while making an appointment to go see an account here was $90, but they were going to charge me %285 when I only had 4 W2s (simplest file). At 9pm, the night before my taxes were files, the accountant I was working with called me to say my file was ready to be submitted and that I had to pay $10000 to the IRS; I think to myself the amount is at least 80% higher than what I paid last year, so I tell her that, and she insists that the amount she gave was accurate and that I should pay it and then get reimbursed by the IRS if the amount is incorrect! Finally, after giving me a terrible attitude, she agreed to get a second opinion. She called me the next day and said they found an error, and that I owed only $1600. Had I not caught the error myself, I now would have been writing a check for $10000 instead of $1600 to the IRS...
