No joke, I always get gifted ROYCE chocolates - Christmas, Birthday, etc. these are easily the best chocolates I've ever had! They're so unique. If you like chocolate mousse, then you'll love these! These chocolates are like little chocolate mousse rectangles. They're soft yet a little firm like nearly frozen mousse. I've never had anything like these before. Also, the quality is superb. I hate Hersheys and American (even popular German chocolates) sweets because they're equivalent to eating sugar, but somehow worse. It's way too sweet and in a really bad way. These chocolates are very sweet, but in a different way because the ingredients used are much better. It's much more cocoa present and complex. Also, I am NOT lactose by any means, BUT you HAVE to keep these refrigerated or else you will die of stomach pain like I did! Totally my bad, but I want to save you from suffering. So yummy, can't wait to get some more! Lastly, the SAKURA ONE IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST. My mans & I really love it. It has a cherry flavor and is so so original. Buy all the flavors are amazing. Really good gift, it left a really special impression on me!

I cannot stop coming back to this chocolate shop lol. Every chocolate I have purchased and/or was given to me, have all tasted delicious! It is not too sweet, but a perfect balance of flavors in the items I have tried. I LOVE the Royce Bar Chocolate Nut. It is individually wrapped and tastes amazing. The item has Almond, Pecans, Cashews, Macadamia, Nutty Puffs and Praline in a small chocolate bar. It is soo good!Other delicious items I have tried are: - Royce Chocolate Block Bar - Chocolate Hazel Wafers- Milk Chocolate and Matcha Discs- Matcha Wafers- Baton Cookies Hazelnut CacaoThe service is always amazing and kind. It is a definite must try chocolate shop. Thank you Royce Irvine!

Small chocolate and mochi shop located inside the Mitsuwa on Culver. Royce chocolates are really delicate, creamy, and delicious. Every once in awhile I'll pick up a gift box for special occasions. It shares a space with "J sweets", which sells mochi ice cream.

Saw their ad online, checked the store and saw lot's of different chocolates, gave it a try since the price was fair . I'm not much of a chocolate lover but my wife and daughters are and they loved them all.

This was my first visit to this location. It is located in the Mitsua market. Easy to miss if you're not careful. The lady that helped us was very helpful. When we asked for samples, she gladly obliged us. We ended up getting the whiskey chocolates and the hazelnut ones. Both were very enjoyable.I believe all their chocolates are made in Japan.I look forward to to coming back.

Received this as a gift and its one of the cleanest and creamiest chocolate I have ever eaten. It has the perfect balance of sweetness. This is definitely going to be my go to place for chocolates and gifts for friends. I look forward to trying different chocolate from here.

A Chocolate fiend's paradise. I asked a few colleagues what their favorite Chocolatier was as I had a birthday gift to purchase and to my surprise, it wasn't Toblerone, See's, Ghirardelli, Vosges Haut-Chocolat, or even Hershey. 3 of 5 said the oddly stylized ROYCE' Chocolates. Luckily, they are available in boutiques in any Mitsuwa stores in Orange County (and I am guessing Los Angeles County too) which means I got a chance to have a divine bowl of Santouka Ramen on my visit as well. Yay me. ROYCE' makes exquisite, world-class confections in Hokkaido Japan for decades now and we all know how the Japanese approach everything culinary-related: Artistic. Hokkaido is best known for its cooler climate and abundant natural resources, making it an ideal place for producing chocolates that will have you winning someone's birthday and having them ask you where you found them to begin with. Better still, it is not stupidly expensive. In fact, their offerings are really damn reasonable considering the superlative quality. Start with the ROYCE' Tasting Box which provides 66 pieces for the ridiculously cheap $50.00 and showcases all of their best-known confections. Buy one for whomever and get a second for you. Trust. If you can only try one item, however, make it the Nama Au Lait featuring a rich and buttery blend of proprietary Milk Chocolate and fresh Cream with a slight hint of Brandy. They are a dollar a piece -- so very worth it -- and come in a 20-piece box. Oh, and hide them. That is key. In closing, ROYCE' good, Hitler bad.

If you're a chocolate lover like me, you'll need to try Royce'. They're only located in Mitsuwa. You may miss them depending on what entrance you use. If you're using the back entrance (closer to BP), they're the first stall you'll see on the right as you walk in. I'll be honest, I've gone to Mitsuwa hundreds of times and always passed by this place not knowing what they sold. I thought it was mochi at first. Finally discovered they sell premium chocolate from Japan that is pre-packaged. It can be an expensive addiction though as each box is roughly $20. It's the perfect splurge/treat and I usually get a box or two each time I'm at Mitsuwa now. Try it and you'll see why or taste why you're paying $20 for that one box. The chocolate is softer, more of a truffle/fudge consistency (not like bar chocolate although they do have those too). The boxes have squares of chocolate and you'll get a little tool to wedge each piece out. Saddest part is when you finish that last square! Hence why I get two boxes sometimes, so that disappointment doesn't last long (I just open up the other box). These do need to be refrigerated so keep that in mind if you're purchasing a box and are not heading home right away. They do place it into a packaging that will help to keep it temperature controlled until you do get home (but still don't leave these out in the car if it's hot out). My go to's here are the Nama Chocolate Au Lait and Nama Bitter. Some of these do contain some alcohol but you can also opt for the alcohol free one.

Wow… This is unreal!! The richest, most flavorful, delicious, delicate tasting, amazing chocolate I have ever tried in my entire life! The packaging of each chocolate- the cute little boxes and everything is just a perfection! My top favorite are the Berry Cube Prafeuille Chocolates and the Port Charlotte Scottish Barley Truffles. Thank you for creating such a pleasure for our senses!! Incredible!!
