I'm a 15 year resident of Irvine. Came to have an early lunch with Out-of-State family. Pulled into Diamond Jamboree and parked directly outside the bank. Keep in mind this is a Saturday and there is no assigned parking. The security guard came out and starting speaking to me in Korean, which he soon realized I did not understand. He continued to use physical gestures (in what felt very aggressive) for me to move my in-laws brand new Honda Pilot to another spot. I wasn't sure if there was assigned parking at that moment and since I saw another spot available, I kindly moved. (Maybe the fact he carried a forearm had something to do with it) Afterwards, I looked at the parking spots and didn't see any designation so I went in to the bank to ask the manager why security asked me to move. She said she didn't know why. I thank asked if there was designated parking for their customers. She said 'no' so I followed up and asked why their security asked me to move. I than pulled my phone out to record the conversation and made it known I was doing so. She asked and he answered in Korean. She interpreted and said the security said our SUV was too big to park between the other two cars (Toyota SUV and Porsche 911). She than apologized for his actions. The security also at this time walked away. I don't think he liked being recorded. I told the Manager that the security had no right to do what he did, in the manner he did it. She apologized again. I thanked her for her time and said that I hope their security will act more professionally in the future. (You can bet I'll be parking in the same spot again next weekend...in my Mercedes G Wagon. I welcome him to try this again when I don't have to be so polite in front of my in-laws).
