I've gotten my car worked on here twice and have had good experience both times. Today my thermostat housing busted and was dumping coolant, so I had my car towed here. They were quick to identify the issue and let me know what parts are needed. They're able to get the parts in and perform the repair the same day, staying late to make sure that I had my car ready on time.

If you do not know the price of a part or service and what the service actually does, they will try to rip you off.
First, they charged $150 for check engine light diagnosis that shops like AutoZone and Oreilly do for free (I learned later). It likely only took them a few minutes to get the error code. They also did not clean the Mass Air Flow sensor, which was a straightforward solution for the check engine light. Rather, they were suggesting to replace it for $490 ($380 parts (3 times part price in market) and $110 labor (for unscrewing and screwing up two screws). I decided to clean it myself with a $10 MAF sensor spray.
I would recommend everyone to look up the part price online like on Oreilly or Autozone and see what the service actually is on Youtube / Reddit before agreeing with their quote.

I'm a graduate student with an old car (and no budget to buy a new one) at met Sam and Joey after many other shops had told me that my car was totaled. It was because of their kindness and willingness to work things out that I still have my car, and 12,000 mile on the parts too! I have since been back for nearly everything one would need a shop for: oil changes, replacing tires, fixing faulty headlights, you name it.
I've recommended every single one of my friends to this shop for fair and honest car work, and haven't let anyone else touch my car as well! The staff here is so dedicated to going the extra mile for their customers.

This shop is so awesome. Vehicle brought in for potential issue(s) identified by a non-savvy vehicle operator. Star Auto thoroughly checked out the vehicle and found no issues (like I suspected). Really appreciate this establishment, they are very trustworthy!

Was over charged for an inspection and part that did not fix my problem. I had to take it back to be fixed for the same issue but was charged again $150 just for inspection plus they tried to upsell more parts I didn't need to fix the issue.

I recently had an outstanding experience with Star Auto, and I wanted to share my satisfaction. Seven months ago, I got my brakes replaced at Star Auto. Wahid and Freddy are honest and straightforward. I told them my budget and they were right on the number. I also had a broken door latch that I’d been dealing with for a year and they fixed it at no cost! Just good guys rare to find they do great work and I’m going to recommend them to everyone.

Star Auto Service is such a friendly, good auto service shop. DO NOT go to their next door neighbor. US Smog Check and Star Test Repair is not good and not friendly.
