Mr. Tanaka is hands down the most trustworthy and knowledgeable mechanics I've ever dealt with. What sets him apart is his honesty. He clearly explain the issue, provide options, and never try to upsell unnecessary services.

Tanaka Auto is the absolute best car mechanic for both Toyota and Lexus cars. We have both and have taken both our Highlander and Lexus RX 350 to Tanaka Auto. He can fix any problem and his pricing is very fair. I highly recommend taking your car to Tanaka Auto.

I went there through a recommendation from a friend, and the receptionist was quite unfriendly and shocking.
I asked the mechanic (an older man) a lot of questions, but he seems to have no knowledge or experience, so I won't be able to request maintenance in the future.
This is a level that would not be accepted in Japan.
Honestly, I just felt bad.
I have no idea what this high rating means.
I recommend going to the dealer even if it is expensive.

I have changed oil and breaks at Tanaka Auto a few times. I have Toyota priuse and I'm my mind a Japanese auto repair is better suited for my car. I'm glad I took my car there. Prices are very affordable!

Have been coming here for years and the service is top notch. Mr. Tanaka is always honest about whether the car actually needs something or not (there have been many times where the dealer has suggested a repair and Tanaka is provided a detailed answer on why it is not necessary). Highly recommend making an appointment as they are always right on time!

Quaint shop in Irvine. The mechanic is also the owner I think. It seems like a family shop. The work was fast, he seems very honest. All around I had a good experience. Thank you !

I am very happy with the repair job performed by Tanaka auto. I had an issue with clunking noises coming from the back of the vehicle. I went for a diagnosis and since the diagnosis was very quick they didn't charge me for it. They suggested me to get the rear struts replaced in the vehicle, aftwr getting the job done the car drives much better. The prices for repair were very reasonable (around 400$) and I wasn't quoted unnecessary repairs. The repair itself were done very quickly. I would definitely recommend this shop.

Mr. Tanaka is very professional, explains the problem and shows you parts replaced afterwards. I'll bring my 2002 CRV back if it needs any repair or maintenance

I drove by to inquire about my Honda Odyssey engine light on to Tanaka's auto repair shop and Mr. Tanaka attended to me even if he was busy working on another car. He diagnosed my van for the light engine and before I knew it he made the engine light disappeared. What a great guy! He did not even charge me a cent! Thank you very much Mr. Tanaka.

A skilled, fair mechanic is sometimes difficult to find. I'm glad I had my Toyota serviced here and I'll certainly be back next time around.Just a heads up, there isn't a waiting area that I'm aware of, so make sure to make necessary travel arrangements to drop off your car for your appointment.

I had my car dropped off there after it broke down. They are extremely honest gave me a quote. Major engine problems so I decided it wasn't worth repairing. They were patient while I found a tow company to take it back to San Diego area. Come here if you need work on your car.Service: General repairs & maintenance
