I visited the Toyota booth at the OC Fair interested in a car, but when I called to the nearest salesman, he walked right past me. I managed to get his attention, but he didn’t seem interested in answering any questions. When I asked if his dealership wanted a sale, he proceeded to boast how he was “one of the higher ups from corporate, in charge of sponsoring the entire fair”, and how one car didn’t mean much to him. I’m not sure if he was trying to make an impression, but it amazed me that this person was in the customer service industry. I’ve heard great things about Toyota, but wouldn’t you take business elsewhere if this was the kind of treatment expected?

Toyota, great to own horrible to work for at the dealership. Toyota corporation should be ashamed of how they let these dealerships treat technicians and employees. They need to step in and do something and put these private companies corporate companies that own these dealerships in check. After 13 years as a technician for Lexus and Toyota, I’ve had enough, the greed at these dealerships is unbelievable. I’ve watched dozens and dozens of high-level technicians leave the industry due to this greed. As for the training facilities at Lexus and Toyota USA, these instructors know what we deal with day-to-day so they do take care of us and they are all very cool people. It’s just unfortunate they can’t do anything about the dealerships. On that note, I would give them 4-5 stars. I if you are currently a technician at a dealership or want to get into the industry I recommend get in learn as much as you can, get out and don’t look back.

I've been a loyal Toyota customer since the mid 90's. I will never buy another Toyota again! Why, will it seems that Toyota of the Desert is more interested in hustling there customers at the service entrance to have someone at the dealership promoting their tire's. I informed that person I knew that I needed tire's but would not pay their price for tire's and would go elsewhere for that product. He then replied that he could give me a a price and I stated that's ok and proceeded to the service desk. We were informed that our Toyota Care had expired except for two tire rotations and that it would cost $75 dollars for an oil change due to that it was no longer covered and tried to bait me by telling us that for $149.00 we could get three oil changes. Really why would we drive 125 miles for an oil change when we can get it locally without all the wear and tear on our Toyota. We did not like what happened as we felt that we were being hustled the moment we got there. Sorry Toyota I'm done with you. Oh yeah, over all those years I've purchased over 15 vehicles or more over the years only to have that dealership hustle for profits.

Toyota does a terrible job notifying customers about recalls. I’ve been waiting for a notice on the third brake light for my 2016 SR5 Tacoma! The local dealership is quite untrustworthy would not recommend.

I own a Toyota Prius. Back in 2019 I received a letter from Toyota suggesting that my car has faulty brake booster assembly and will be repaired for free. So I brought my car to the local dealer (Toyota Pasadena) and explained the issue that ABS and some other lights were coming on. I was told that my car indeed has some error code (C1391). However its not eligible for any free repair. Service staff recommended me to put the car back to Park gear or re-start the car as workaround. They suggested that I really don't need repair. Two weeks ago I went back to the same dealer again. They suggested that I have error code C1391 which requires brake booster assembly replacement. I was told that it could have been replaced through extended warranty if I had asked them before extended warranty expired last year. I told them I was at the dealer multiple times and requested this repair, but my request was denied. They admitted their former employee had made a mistake. But they cant help me now as extended warranty expired. I need to pay $4K - $5K out of pocket for the repair. Then I called Toyota Customer Care and submitted a complaint. Unfortunately their response was extremely disappointing. Senior Customer Care specialist suggested that Toyota can not help me any way because Toyota dealer is a private business. Therefore I have to pay for the repair myself. As a loyal Toyota customer, I am extremely disappointed. This is my 4th Toyota car. Toyota admits that my car should have been repaired when I brought the car to the dealer in 2019. Dealer admits that car should have been repaired for free as well. However neither of them would do anything to make things right. Instead they ask me to pay $4-$5K for the repair now.
