Love the shore birds have their area and we can still safely share the beach.

This place is a treasure! Several landscapes to enjoy and an awesome walking trail to help get outside! Space for activity on the beach or you can enjoy the lakes/lagoons. There are so many different plants to admire. Plus, the snowy plovers are so cute! What an amazing protection the staff here are putting in place for these birds. Everything is really well maintained and the docents offering tours are incredibly knowledgeable! I love the Marina layer often taking over this area. It's definitely a must see!

Such a beautiful, hidden gem! Nice trail takes you around the Slough to the beach and back. Lots of habitat restoration has been done in recent years to this area. There is a breeding area for the endangered western snowy plover. If you go, please tread lightly, do not take anything, and do not leave anything that will harm the plovers or any of the other precious wildlife in this place.

What a beautiful, quiet spot to devour my burrito from Cristino's. Good views, good food, good old Goleta!

The reserve is a great place for birding and exploring natural history. Check eBird for bird lists or iNaturalist for all creatures observed at COPR. This may be the only place where you can ask a docent to show you nests and chicks of the threatened Western Snowy Plovers in their native habitat. The beach has become very busy since parking lots were open nearby. As a result, birds are being displaced. You can help to protect COPR as a wildlife sanctuary by choosing another beach to play ball, sunbathe, and walk dogs. For nature viewing, this is an amazing place. There is a 4 mile walk around the reserve where you can see the Devereux Slough, Sands Beach, vernal pools, and other habitats. Check out the self-guided tour at the COPR website.

I went at night just to feel the wind and hear the waves sing. The air was crisp and it was so soothing to just be there and experience the sounds and the feel. Definitely worth a night walk

Beautiful beach, but the water tastes of oil. Plus there is tar all over the beach.

This historic place is one of the best places around Isla Vista, in the middle of the nature is relaxing to walk on the beach below the cliff. Perfect for its romantic and amazing sunsets.
