I went to Gold Country Auto in Jackson. They told me I needed new brakes, rotor, axel, no oil in my car and more. Ryan, who did the “26 point check” didn’t even open my cabin air filter that was full of leaves. He charged me $166 to “look at it”. I got a second opinion with pictures. My brakes are amazing (they should be I got them 3 years ago) and my axel is fine. Both air filters full of leaves and debris. Gold Country Auto tried to scam me hard for things that didn’t need fixed. When speaking with the owner Don to rectify the incident he told me they wouldn’t lie, that he backs up Ryan 100% and did not see a problem. I do not trust Gold Country Auto and they will take advantage of any woman that goes there. I have paper proof they tried to scam me.

After Jeff Holman closed, I was referred by Ryan to Gold Country Automotive. My experience there has been 100% positive on all counts.

I’m here to pick up my car. I drive through the awful snow and to get to the shop later than what I wanted but before closing and it’s CLOSED AT 3:55pm! Would have been nice if they called me and told me I need my car to work!! This is awful service!!

From one shop to another: We have a mutual customer with a Subaru Forrester here in Utah. Gold Country Auto Clinic was very helpful to take care of a warranty situation from a state away! Even though their customer was out of their hands, they did what it took to take care of them here in Utah. Thanks Gold Country!

I switched from another Jackson auto repair about 3 years ago and have been very happy with these folks. They give me a range of choices for repairs and the ramifications for each choice. They do not pressure for the big repair. They are reliable and up front.

My wife takes our 2017 Toyota 4Runner to Gold County Auto Clinic . This time was for a 3000 mile service also a four wheel brake job with the replacement of the front rotors . The job was done in one day at a good price ($985.00) . Tim explained all the work done and answered all our questions . We will continue to use GCAC for the 4Runner services .

Can't work on my vehicle ATM, because I injured my back. Called just now on recommendation of folks over at Brick House. Spoke to Tim. He advised me that they were booked until after New Year. Fine. But when I mentioned I'd like to get my 80 Series Land Cruiser worked on, he said he would not be inclined to work on such an older vehicle but perhaps Don might, since whenever you work on older vehicles, if something else breaks, this becomes an issue. What?! Isn't this an automotive shop? First time, I've ever heard of ageism in automotive repair. Not what I expected coming from a 'local' recommendation.

Have had Don work on my cars the past few years, several occasions I've had to return to fix the repairs made. Sometimes that happens. But after much consideration and time (8 months) contemplating this review I felt this needed to be said. My son purchased my old car, meticulously maintained and worked on by Don. Never owning a car before my highly functional autistic son attempted to understand the work being done on the car. But Don didn't seem to care for his questions and asked that he not bring his car there anymore. I later spoke with Don myself and was concerned by his lack of professionalism or concern for educating a customer. I know Don will know who I am and I fully stand by my critique of his lack of service or customer care. Despite my concern what he doesn't know is even after Don completed over $1500 in work on the car. Weeks later the engine blew due to a rear main seal failure that should have been caught but wasn't. A rear main seal failure will show signs long before it needs work, especially from a car you've worked on and maintained with regular oil changes. You might say, well cars fail. Yes, yes they do, that's not why I'm writing this. I'm addressing the customer care or lack of helping someone with a disability learn about advocating for themselves and addressing there concerns in a safe space and giving caregivers the sense of trusting the business owner to respect that. Gold Country failed.
