It's not often that you "feel good" about spending $700 on an emergency car repair! But such is the feeling after having visited the crew at Midas in Jackson, CA, on a recent Saturday. My family was on a road trip from San Diego, and while visting Old Town Jackson, we found ourselves with a busted radiator and antifreeze all over the street. Midas was quite literally the only repair shop open. Ethan and Sam made a quick diagnosis and worked to get our van into a service bay ASAP. Ethan immediately looked for a new matching radiator, and Sam was confident he could get the job done in 3 hours. I proceeded to put my faith in the team, and I hung out in the lobby for a good part of the day, as my family walked around town looking to pass the time. Lynnae at the front desk did a great job, and Ethan kept me informed with work progress. As the hours passed, we all continued to share road trip stories; Ethan told me about his own road trip trials and tribulations both as an adult and father, and when he traveled with his own father back in the day. I sat patiently between 11:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. and then 3 p.m. and then 4 p.m. and then I started to get nervous as we inched closer to closing time. Ethan broke out a box of donuts and shared them with my kids, me and my wife. The shop closed at 5, but Sam kept working while Ethan and Lynnae closed garage doors, etc. Finally at 5:35 the job was finished and Lynnea actually brought me to tears when it was time to pay and she made sure I was getting the best price. It hurt to pay that much money, but I was grateful to the entire team for helping me and my family get back on the road that same day, since it could have been a horrible two-day delay (closed on Sunday). Getting us back on the road really meant a lot to us. And though I never got to see Sam at the end, I wanted to sincerely thank him for his diligence and hard work during the entire second half of his work day. And thanks to Ethan for making it a personal experience, and to Lynnae for making it all pleasant. Oddly enough, if I am ever in Jackson, CA again, I will be sure to stop by and say hello.

Been coming here since they opened with both our trucks. Always great and quick service until a year or so ago. Now it takes twice as long because the employee's are just walking around talking and not working. New owners i guess and no oversight. I own a business with several employee's and I would not be in business if I allowed people to just wonder around and not stay on task. NOT SO SPEEDEE ANYMORE. The greasy hand prints on the door and hood were nice!Eaten called the next day and apologized they like every business are having hiring problems. No one wants to work. I will still be a customer .Thanks for the call

Midas in Martel (JACKSON) Ca are filled with great men and women who genuinely care about service to each customer. That's why i drive 45 min away just for oil and transmission service. They ALWAYS come over and let you know every step they are going to make and make sure we are good with it. They don't scam like most places do. Great workers!!

Worst experience with an alignment. The front desk rang me up and didn’t tell me anything about the alignment until I asked before walking out the door. Turns out that the car needed more work but the mechanic wouldn’t talk to me. They kept relaying information through the receptionist who didn’t know anything! I find out at the end that I was “late” for an appointment which they never communicated, which was the reason for their contempt. I ended up paying for another alignment at Les Schwab! Go to Le Schwab across the street for honesty and professionalism. Don’t get ripped off like me!

I went to Midas for an alignment after I bought new tires for my 2017 chevy silverado LTZ, After about 45 minutes my truck was aligned and was ready to go, After paying for the alignment I walked to my truck and drove it out of the parking lot of Midas, As I started to drive home i felt something on the stearing wheel from the 12 o'clock position to the 9 o'clock position. When I stopped at the first traffic signal I looked at the stearing wheel and noticed dozens of small scratches in the leather, I immediately returned to Midas and asked the manager if they clamped anything on the stearing wheel,, He said no and I took him out to the parking lot to see the damage, While he was walking out he called for the tech who performed the alignment to look, I showed them both the damage that occurred, the tech shrugged his shoulders and walked away and the manager said they don't clamp anything to the stearing wheel and offered no help, I told him it wasn't like that when I drove in. I noticed my truck rolling back and forth several times when it was on the alignment rack and noticed my lights were on for the duration of the time. the truck was at least 10 ft up on the rack,, The technician had to have used something to grab the stearing wheel to turn the wheel while he was aligning the truck,, Something happened and they won't admit it,, My truck has only 27k and is in like new condition,, Don't go to this facility, They damage vehicles and it's your problem... Im forced to pick a rating from 1 to 5 stars in order to post this.. Im picking 1 star but would pick 0 stars if I could.

Folks seem nice and all but nothing seems to happen Speedee here. Lots of hands in pockets and standing around by friendly staff. A nice feature of the shop is the big window to view activity.I needed an oil change and tire rotation. They could change the oil, but not rotate the tires as a truck was being stored in that particular bay. Disappointing in a quick service shop.I'll keep coming back as shop is close to my home and work appeared competent, but they hard to recommend if speediness is a customer need.

Decided to take our family vehicle to SpeeDee for an oil change. Signed document stating an oil change was all that was going to be done. Upon payment, was given a bill for close to $200 dollars. Was told them that several filters were dirty and were changed during the process but was never consulted about this prior to them doing the work. Confronted the man in front about this and he apologized for them not asking prior to the filters being changed but stated, they were really dirty and we already did the work." After arguing with the guy they finally removed the new filters and put the old ones back in. When there is a contract of service to be done do not take it upon yourself to change that contract without having a conversation with the person who is lying the bill you bozos! How many people walk in your business and get up-charged? What you are doing is criminal!! 2) A little over 88 dollars for a normal oil change??? You gotta be kidding me! Tommy's garage in Ione is far cheaper and they don't lie, cheat, and steal! Will never, ever, ever take a vehicle I own to SpeeDee's again under any circumstances...you should all be ashamed of yourselves!!!

Very very slow service! Arrived early last Saturday for an oil change. They immediately pulled my car in and seemed to get to work...but the service to change the oil, replace air filter and clean the windshield was so slow. I usually do my own service except for this time. In my garage at home it takes less than 30 mins. I was there over an hour. The problem I found was that the crew does a lot of chit chatting about other stuff than work...litterly stopping work to bs with all the guys. Where is the shop foreman to keep your guys on point... Less talk more work. The process was definitely not speedy. Over 80 bucks for conventional oil and air filter too..ouch!
