My husband & I recently visited Joshua Tree & had the best day with Mojave Guides! Murphy was our guide & he was awesome! We loved that it was just us, not a group. The climb was amazing & challenging. Murphy was a great support as we had never mountain climbed before. He was patient, kind & entertaining. He was very knowledgeable about the national park, he showed us some really cool spots & told us interesting history along the way. We definitely want to go back & spend another day climbing with him!

You are in great hands with Mojave Guides. Taylor, our guide was professional, personable, and always focused on safety. He took my family on some great routes that were perfect for our skill level, and made sure everyone was truly having fun. 100% will be going on another climbing trip with Mojave Guides.

My husband and I had a great morning climbing two pitches that were just the right level for beginners. We appeciated Murphy guiding us through the equipment and climbing technique and sharing his knowledge of the history of the park. He is a patient and funny teacher. The emphasis on safety was clear, and the reason we chose this company is because of their climbing and first aid certifications. After two pitches, Murphy offered us the option of another climb or a rock scramble. We opted for what turned out to be a very fun scramble through boulders and a slot canyon. Murphy even went a half hour over our time, and he gave us suggestions for hiking routes. We would highly recommend this company and look forward to another adventure with them.

The only climbing guide you need for Joshua Tree National Park!
A beautiful morning in the summertime, we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Taylor and letting him take us around the climbing routes in Joshua Tree.
There are some other climbing tour companies but few are local to the area and few operate in the summer (very hot). Our guide, Taylor, is local to the area and extremely passionate to the park and climbing.
He took us around ‘The Hall of Horrors’, a section of the park where we climbed. He is a fountain of knowledge in this area- climbing and Joshua Tree, and he really showed us the magic of the park through his passion. It was a really enjoyable tour.
Myself and my boyfriend had some climbing experience indoors with lead and top rope climbing but our friend had little- all fine in the capable hands of our guide who found us a great spot. The rock was so sticky and it was our first time climbing outdoors- such an incredible first time experience!
It was so much fun and I definetely recommend Taylor- he is well worth his weight in gold! Not to mention hilarious.

Die Zeit mit Taylor war super! Wir hatten gutes Material und der Kletterort war gut gewählt. Es hat sich sehr gelohnt und wir können es nur weiterempfehlen. Taylor ist sehr sympathisch und hat sich sowohl mit den Kindern als auch mit uns interessiert unterhalten sowie Informationen über den Nationalpark, Flora und Fauna bereitgehalten. Vielen Dank!

If you're heading to Joshua Tree National Park and want an unforgettable adventure, Mojave Guides is the way to go! We had the absolute pleasure of climbing with Taylor, who is the real deal. Not only is he super knowledgeable about rock climbing, but he also knows a ton about the plant life and wildlife, which made the experience even more interesting.
Our group of four (in our 30s) was totally new to rock climbing, and we decided to brave the summer heat in July with the "Choose Your Own Adventure" option. Taylor kicked things off with the "Canyons and Corridors" (trust me, the name doesn’t do it justice!), which ended up being a very challenging jungle gym for adults, and wrapped up with an exhilarating rappel down a cliff. He really tuned into our abilities, pushing us just the right amount and boosting our confidence throughout the day.
What really set Taylor apart was his vibe—he was so fun to hang out with and kept us engaged for the full 4 hours. Even when we went over time, he didn’t rush us and made sure we fully enjoyed the experience. Seriously, he was amazing!
If you're looking to truly experience the park and tap into one of the best rock climbing spots in the U.S., look no further. Mojave Guides, and especially Taylor, will make your trip unforgettable!

We had an amazing experience! Our guide, Nolan, was awesome- encouraging, knowledgeable, fun, and accommodating. He really got to know our family and taught us so much about climbing. Perfect way to enjoy the park. Highly recommend!

I had a climbing trip booked for 2 months and with less than 48 hrs notice THEY cancelled on me. I frantically looked for another guide at 6pm on a saturday for Monday morning and Mojave had an opening. I easily booked online and got information quickly. I'm so glad they did! Taylor was amazing! He set some routes that were perfect for our current climbing levels. He even got us on our first trad route. I highly recommend! He saved our trip.

Had a great experience with Taylor as our guide! He was able to accommodate us with a slightly later start (drove from San Diego the morning of for a 7am start- would not recommend doing this) and was very fun to hang out with. In addition to climbing we saw some awesome caves.

We had a great experience doing a half day of climbing and canyoning with Taylor. My wife, myself, and our two boys (9 and 11). We met him bright and early, which was great for avoiding the heat and crowds. The combo of top roping and scurrying around some beautiful boulders and cracks was perfect. The kids could not stop chatting with Taylor who did a great job managing them. “I really like him, can we come back tomorrow”? They even shared their Jolly Ranchers with him, which, in our house, is a badge of honor!:-)
