Love this local gem! The customer service is always exceptional. Greeted upon entry. No pressure to buy. Friendly check out. Cole was very knowledgeable, honest, helpful and patient. We came to JT to boulder but forgot our climbing shoes at home. We were nervous they wouldn't have much if any vegan options. Cole reassured us they had plenty! Before showing us shoes, he mentioned that they offer daily shoe rentals of these nice Butora shoes for $15/day. I would've rented but ended up loving these new MadRock shoes Cole personally tried and recommended. They're vegan, felt and looked great, and were only $79! The prices are very reasonable and competitive, as much as if not cheaper than REI, so definitely makes sense to support this local gem! Thanks to Cole for making our experience very easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend stopping by for all your adventure needs!

Great people! Went in for our 14 yo climber (parents don’t climb, we like our joints too much) and they were SO nice and informative. They spent so much time just offering tips and recommendations - got the kid so pumped up about the climbs. Thank you, guys!!

came in to get my annual intraagency pass & they were out of Joshua maps. this location looks a lot mustier than our location in Temecula (which is quite nice). it is great to have a supply store right before going into Joshua!

Very friendly and helpful folks working there. Stopped in for shoes and was blown away by the genuine kindness of the staff. I'll find a reason to stop in and pick something up every time I pass through.

Stopped in here a couple times while visiting Joshua Tree to climb. They have all of the normal climbing clothing, camping gear and basic climbing gear that you'd expect. They also had some stuff (like Totems) that I don't see everywhere, and some aid gear that I barely ever see in retail stores. I was really impressed by their selection. The employees were also super helpful in choosing climbs in the park, plus finding restaurants and questions like that. They were super friendly as well.

Stopped in looking for a solution to keep an adventurous four-year-old safe while visiting the Grand Canyon (and not wanting to spend a lot). Despite being short-staffed, the man who was working was immensely helpful, patient, kind, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Nomad Ventures.

I am a local climber and shop at nomads all the time. It's an awesome store with knowledgeable local employees that can answer your questions. Their shoe selection is great as well as their guidebook selection. They really have what you need for climbing and hiking. It's cool to live in a town that has an awesome climbing store!

Love this place! Super handy if you've forgotten any gear once you get to jtree. I do wish you could try the climbing shoes and return them if they aren't right.

Best climbing shop in the country, rivaled only by Rock and Snow in the Gunks. Excellent selection of gear, super knowledgeable and friendly staff. Support your local climbing shop!
