The park offers a variety of hiking experiences, from the moderate 4-mile Stonewall Peak trail to shorter, easy hikes suitable for families. Visitors can enjoy picnic areas and scenic views, although some areas have been affected by past fires. The park is generally well-maintained, with clean facilities and friendly staff, though a few visitors have reported issues with park rangers. Overall, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park provides a safe and enjoyable outdoor experience for campers, hikers, and nature enthusiasts.
If you are into horses, I expect this would be an appealing destination. Even without horses, it was a great find. We returned over a year since our first visit. In mid-summer the waterfalls were dry. It was hot during the day but given some shade and a small breeze it was tolerable.
