I went with a large group to this interesting mine yesterday. The owner was very friendly and gave me a few samples of what he was grilling on his grill, corn on the cob, filet mignon, and ribs. His potato potato salad was amazing.

Grandkids 10 and 7 really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was great and really informative. Everyone there was really friendly. The hot dogs/potato salad/sweet corn they sell were good. Next time I'll go and try the bbq.

A real gold mine, in every sense of the word. Very friendly staff who explain very clearly and simply, so that we, who don't understand English very well, understood almost everything!

What a great experience. Not overly commercialized and the people working there are genuinely happy to be there. The tour was fascinating. I highly suggest this on a hot day as well because it's much cooler in the mines.

I'm going to try to write 2 different reviews if it lets me but the reason is because I can't write one for Double M Ranch BBQ directly.
Yo, best damn pickles I have ever had! Paul didn't have a BBQ that day but he had just enough to share that I wish he had! I want more. Like now. I bought 2 jars (spicy and super spicy) and they were gone in only a few days. They didn't last me a week. I wish I could get more (message me if you know how I can get some without having to drive the 6hrs to and from just to get - or not get - a few jars of pickles) at my local shops. No joke, I even got my buddy saying they are the best he has had!
Also, the tour is awesome and if I can make a second review I will cover all of this in that, but know that the pickles are so good that is was that important to overshadow it with this.
Please give me more pickles!

Great mine tour. Informative and entertaining. Not just the geology, but the history and politics of how these mines become greats in the area but also fell from government injection. Matt was a great tour guide, injecting humor for the wee ones and facts for those of us looking for the history. Thank you guys for taking great care of us!

What a great tour! I didn't know what to expect, I've been to Julian 500 times and just didn't think the gold mine tour would be good. But I was wrong! It was very thorough, full of history, and the people running it are so kind! They even had some BBQ straight off the grill and sides going for a very reasonable price.
Definitely take the tour!!

What a great little gem. It was super affordable to take the whole family. It was really informative and I learned a lot while there. The panning for gold was fun but unfortunately you do not to keep what you get haha. But that's okay - the gift shop is small and cute. They also sell homemade pickles there which are delicious!!!

The staff here are some of the most friendly people you'll find. Our tour guide Dwayne was knowledgeable with a sense of humor. I definitely recommend this place as it's a great piece of history and a place to learn about the old school process of mining. If you're in Julian it's a must visit.
