Came here for a quick lunch 3/23/24 since we were in the area. They had a pretty good menu and their broccoli cheddar soup was delicious but the crackers were a little stale. The soup was amazing though.Got the tuna sandwich and added sliced avocado, grilled chicken sandwich, pulled pork sandwich and linguini with pork sausage. I was pretty bummed out that they had ran out of cinnamon sticks for my hot toddy drink but it was still okay. The ladies did an amazing job answering all of our questions about the menu and being very attentive. The restaurant is very cute and vintage vibes with a fireplace. Also dog friendly in their patio areaKid-friendliness: They offer a kids menu and high chair for littles

Everything was great (I just wish I lived 1400 miles closer). The Rueben sandwich was one of the best I ever had. They heated it up and the temperature and textures were as good as it gets. We also had the salmon dinners and they were cooked to perfection too.

The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is like eating in a Thomas Kinkade painting. Outdoor seating is beautiful in a garden setting, and well-behaved dogs are allowed. We ate inside, this time. Unfortunately, the tables facing the garden are only for the parties of two! Larger parties of 4-6 are inside "living-room" area.Overall, the food is good but not great. The menu is a bit pricey for most offerings compared to other Julian restaurants. However, the BLT was excellent and the bacon the most bountiful I've ever seen. The fries were very tasty; soft inside, crispy outside with a tasty seasoning that was hard to pin down. The tuna melt came with a sweet pickle relish; not to our liking. The beef sandwich au jus with provolone and grilled veggies was disappointing. The sliced beef tasted commercially sliced and not very flavorful. My minestrone soup was excellent packed with fresh coarse cut veggies and minimal pasta. It was like a jambalaya. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, as per our our order, flavorful and tender. The accompanying salad was lackluster and plain. They have an excellent list of wine, liquor, etc. choices. The Julian grill is my favorite restaurant for setting and atmosphere. Some food items are yummy; others ok but all items are a bit over priced for comparable items offered elsewhere in Julian.

Restaurant in a house. Quality from the moment we walked in the door. Trout was delicious, not over or under cooked. Also were the roast beef sandwich and tuna salad sandwiches. Shared apple pie ala mode which was a huge serving. Coffee good too. Nice quiet place to converse with friends and family.

I don’t post this lightly but this meal was trash. We just had one of the worst dining experiences of our life at the Grille. Everything was frozen food. The ravioli, the chicken, even the veggies. It was offensive. Soulless. Careless. Like, do they think we’re being fooled? Do they think no one notices how bad it is? There is no effort made to present it nice, just congealing on my plate looking like I went through a cafeteria line.. except we paid $100 for it. How is nothing fresh? How do they think this is acceptable for the price? The sign at the front asks you to “please be nice” so we just paid and didn’t say anything, left our food on the table and said we had to go. It was vile. The service was great, a nice staff. We should have known we were in trouble tho when the server had not tried the dishes we asked about.BAKED BRIE: somehow had no flavor. Served with box crackers and apple slices from an apple that had no business with Brie. I love apples and cheese but just NO. And pineapple? Umm… in Julian? Know where you are. Serve food that makes sense here. Apples DO make sense obviously but not this one.JALAPEÑO RAVIOLI: obviously something frozen and deep fried. They did not make this. It’s processed to death. Not a fancy $17 appetizer. You’re not fooling anyone!CHICKEN WHATEVER: Don’t remember what it was called, doesn’t matter. Frozen round chicken breast, yes round and smashed… tasted slightly rancid or like it sat out for a long time. It was dense and just tasted old and sad. It wasn’t fresh, that’s my point. No idea what the sauce on it was trying to be but it was just so unappealing. Served with over seasoned frozen veggie melody (WHY?!?!) and “chef potatoes” that were a damn inedible tragedy.SAUSAGE FETTUCCINI: this was absolutely disgusting. A bowl of oil and bad meat with some store bought pasta. This is something you’d see a real chef hold and tip the bowl to drain all the grease out of it. I can’t even tell you how gross it looked. My favorite part was watching the busser scrape food off the cloth table covers and reset the table on the old used dirty cloth. Nice. Real nice. I immediately stopped touching everything and said “let’s just go”.*rings bell* SHAME!

I tried Julian Grille's creamy mushroom soup, and it blew my mind – so good ?On the flip side, the tuna sandwich and burger were just okay. They didn't quite match the soup's wow factor. Stick to the soup if you want the real star of the show! ?

If you enjoy Denny's steak at a price point of a mediocre steakhouse, this is your place! All, the ribeye is just not worth it. You will be let down. The salad is more favorable. The environment is great. Very intimate and the people we met were very friendly.

You're literally dining inside someone's living room. It felt very awkward sitting there as you could listen to everyone's conversation and to top it off, they don't play music most of the time and when they do it's on a very low volume. So if you decide to go, try to get sitted on the patio or outside.Overall, service was a little slow, but we understand that so many people come by Julian, so it wasn't it big deal. The food was good, but nothing special, I had no complaints about it.

Nice restaurant right across from the Apple pie company. Nice indoors and outdoors seating. Good selection of food from casual to more formal.
