I'm a wedding photographer and I absolutely loved shooting here. The location is amazing with so many places to get beautiful shots. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but that's typical of Julian on a Saturday.I would love to photograph another wedding here and I thoroughly recommend Oakwood Creek.

Very poor experience here as a part of a bridal party recently. While the location itself is beautiful-which is why I am giving 3 stars, the customer service is not what it should be for such an important event as a wedding. The bartender was excellent, friendly, and did a nice job. But-the majority of the venue staff were rude to guests, lacked communication skills, and over all coordination. A bigger commitment to guest and bridal party experience should be considered, because overall we felt like things were very haphazard, simple requests were ignored, and we were talked down to by the staff when asking questions or making requests. The STAFF should be thinking about ways to make everyone have a nice, comfortable time, even in the event of last minute changes or inconveniences. The responsibility to think ahead and be thoughtful should fall on the staff members-not the bride, bridal party, etc. Based on reviews it seems like they have not been a wedding venue long, and it would be to their benefit to brush up on hospitality basics-or hire someone else to be on site the day of the event with more skills in this area.

We hosted our post-wedding brunch at Oakwood Creek and had a great experience working with Mary Ann and Sherry. It was exactly what we were looking for: casually elegant, outdoors and as charming as the rest of Julian is. The outdoor courtyard accommodated 45 guests but could likely fit a few more. We went with a custom package/menu that included: - A spread of breakfast goodies (quiche, sausage/bacon, the fluffiest biscuits I've ever had, local jams, waffles, granola parfaits) - Drinks (coffee, tea, mimosas) - Tables, chairs, linens - Tableware, flatware, glassware and decor Bonus: Sherry is also an amazing florist. She did all the florals for our wedding, plus the arrangements in this photo that we used at our welcome dinner and then repurposed at the brunch. Having the brunch at Oakwood Creek was the perfect way to wrap up our wedding weekend, and we are grateful to Sherry and Mary Ann for their help taking care of all the details!

We used Oakwood Creek for our wedding. The venue was very nice, rustic, and a great vibe. They provided heaters for the guests and the overhead string lights added a nice touch. The venue is almost entirely gravel, so I would not recommend high heels or any kind of extreme footwear here. They provided cornhole, a photo room, an indoor space, rooms for the bride/bridesmaids and groom/groomsmen to get ready and hang out in. There was one restroom outside and one inside. On the day of the event, there was no assistance from the venue or coordinator with setup of the tables, decorations, etc. Please plan to have people there early to decorate/setup/put out plates and silverware/etc. The wedding ultimately happened without issue. We received multiple comments from guests about how nice the venue was. I wasn't incredibly involved with the planning process. From what I've heard, there were some flower arrangements that were spoken about but weren't seen, and I believe there were supposed to be people there to assist with setup but there were not. Those things are the reason for the 4 star review. I would check and double check and plan to have your own help on the day of your event. Thank you Oakwood Creek for the fantastic evening!

Excellent facility. Plenty of ammenities for all types of celebrations and had an excellent variety of things to do and areas to hang out. Only downside is that the volume for the music for the festivities had to be lowered to almost nothing. Unfortunately it is difficult to enjoy the dancing when your feet on the gravel make more noise than the music. Once the music had to be lowered, the party fizzled out. Make sure to address this ahead of time when booking for an event.

Lovely little shop. I bought myself some manly smelling bar soap, made right here at Oakwood Creek. It's important for me to smell more masculine than feminine:) Antique and vintage furnishings and dishes also available here. Candy and soda are available too!

We love this place. It's a little pricey but you do get very unique and one-of-a-kind and antiques. They also have a great selection of handmade crafts, soaps and candy. It is definitely worth walking through to see everything. They also have a couple of benches sitting on the front porch where you can sit for a spell while petting Their cat and listening to the wonderful water fall out front.

Can never get enough of this great little store. The owner has an eye for great antique finds and her soaps and bath accessories are to die for, not to mention her yummy baked goods.

I love this old house and it's charm its practicly the same as it was in 1975. I can vouch for this as I lived in this charming old home when I was a little girl. I Love that Sherry has decided to keep the footprint of the homes old charm alive. Not to mention all the beautiful antiques and charming unique items you can find in this old house. It's a must visit next time your in town. Signed the little girl who lived in the Oakwood store and whose heart is still felt in the home. 😇
