Its a pretty average lake as far as lakes go. Nothing special about it... but the camp site was very good.

Pretty place to be in nature. Lovely view of the lake.LOTS of hornets and their nests. Or wasps. I forget which. It may be a seasonal thing. They did respect boundaries for the most part. Plenty of mosquitos as well.Saw a couple deer as I was driving around. Glad the speed limit is 15 so I saw it coming from the side of the road8 dollars for a day pass at the entrance. Not in my personal budget for a casual outing, but not too bad.Bathrooms are somewhat clean but have those sinks that only work as you're pushing on them, and no hot water.I waded in the swimming area before I saw that I shouldn't have because of the algae. I regretted not bringing swim shoes because the rocks were sharp and painful to walk on throughout the whole beach. You can use the water fountains and shower rooms and buy tokens for water around the side of the showers/bathrooms.One dollar gets you 2 tokens, and each token was 2 minutes of water (turns on right after you put in the first token), so it's a dollar every 4 minutes.Water got hot after about 30 seconds. Great water pressure and size of each shower.Super tall ceilings with sunlight coming through, and still nice and cool inside.Overall, pretty good experience, just expensive.Picnic area: Lots of tables and benches, plenty in shady spots.

Looking for a camping, fishing, and swimming at the same place?! This is a great place to be. One thing bring a net for eating times. There are a lot of bugs that fly around.Restrooms: The restrooms are clean. There are showers that are coin-operated.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are not allowed to be alone. Must be on a leash at all times.

Nice park with clean restroom and shower facilities. Good for a family trip. One caution: some parts of the park (especially near the swim area) have thorn-apple plants. Please be careful so that kids and pets don't come in contact with them as they are poisonous. Don't miss the easy hike along the slough. You can spot turtles, ducks, frogs and some birds along the hike. The showers only take California State Park coins, not quarters. Be sure to carry some bills.

Lots of bees and yellow jackets at the picnic spots making it difficult to open our eat food. We had to eat out food in the car.Restrooms: Very clean and bug free
